Default License plate lights / lens change-out

FYI -- If your two rear license plate light lens are also discoloring, and maybe cracking too, they are easy to change. Just did mine. Buy two of:

License plate light assembly, with lens and bulb
MB 2308200256
DC 5099804AA

Were $18.75 each for the MBs from Mike at OE Discount Parts

You get the black plastic housings too, but I just replaced the lenses (which each include a rubber o-ring, new screws, and a new bulb).

Two Phillips-headed screws each (use the right size screwdriver -- the heads strip easily. Then carefully pry out each lens with a putty knife -- the o-ring will likely stick, and you are also pulling out the bulb at the same time.

Same as the coupe I'm sure. They slide a little one way and compress a plastic springy thingy and rotate down and out the other end as the catch becomes free.. Not sure which way though. Do not scratch the paint or rust will start there.

Hmm, didn't know the Mercedes part was a direct fit too. I'll have to jump on this since I almost broke the lenses when I replaced the bulbs.

Most parts on this car are Mercedes parts. To prove it they have the Mercedes number on them. Look at your license plate lights.
Even parts made specifically for the Crossfire, have a Mercedes part number on them. They may show up on Mercedes cars in the future. The Crossfire specific parts are identified as A 193 XXX XX XX.
