Trunk CROSSFIRE Lettering
Re: Trunk CROSSFIRE Lettering
Send me your address, and I'll mail you the "I".
While I still have all my letters. While doing the wax on- wax off thing I noticed that my letter "I " was moving. Now I want to take them all off clean them and the spots where they go on the car but 1.) how do I safely take them off to clean them ( if I even should or just leave them?) and 2.) what do I use to put them back on for good!!! I want to at least do the "I" but what about placement issues???

1. put masking tape all the way across both top and bottom of the letters, JUST touching them.
2. mark the tape with the left and right horizontal position of each letter.
3. use dental floss to remove each letter, one at a time.
4. clean up the letter and the paint using 3M adhesive remover.
5. re-apply the letter using 3M thin double side tape trimmed with an Exacto knife after applying to the letter.
6. when done, remove the masking tape.
By doing it one letter at a time, it will be much easier to get perfect alignment by refrerencing the other letters.
Re: Trunk CROSSFIRE Lettering
Well, add me to the list of people who need to replace a letter. After being safely parked in the garage all winter long, I decided to take my car out of hibernation and drive to work yesterday. On the way home, I stopped off at the local watering hole for an adult beverage and returned home. When opened the garage door this morning, I noticed that someone had tried to debadge my car for me and had succeeded in removing about a third of the middle "S". You try and try to keep your car looking nice and one idiot (who probably had more than one or two adult beverages) goes and does something like this.

I acquired some chrome letters from another member. I just got them and have not had time to replace the adhesive on any of them. Let me know which letter you are looking for and I will check it out. I can probably give it to you, as that was my agreement with the other member. I have not looked at them yet and don't know the condition.

Thanks for the offer but I'd like to stick with the chrome look too. Good luck!
