Default Fog Lights for Base Model XFires

Was wondering if anyone on the Forum knows whether the wiring for the factory fog lights is in place on the base model XFires? If so, it looks like I'd only need to buy the switch and new dash trim (if available). Looking real hard at buying a base model XFire as a second toy. Several out there to be had. The difference between the base model & Limited version isn't that much. I'd get the 6-speed manual & all of the performance for less investment.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if the wiring is in place, as it would take WORK not to include it in the same wiring bundle as the Limited. Check it out. You can locate the bundle inside the engine compartment, left side, tucked under the top quarter-panel sheet metal, between the wheel well and the front of the car. The 2 wires in the bundle-of-12 for the fog lamps should be coded pale yellow stripe on pale blue, and a brown ground.

Carefully unwrap the bundle. If you find the yellow-on-blue wire, the pig-tails are likely to be coiled up somewhere down below as they cross the front of the car.

rdougc just installed fogs on his base roadster. Give him a shout for any questions.

If I recall correctly, he had to run one wire to his fuse box from the lights, very easy, and tap into a particular fuse. With that hooked up, his headlight switch worked just as it was a factory installed job. I think all headlight switches are the same.
