Default Mesh side coves

Well, does anybody know if anyone makes mesh side coves for the Crossfire in place of the ones under the silver side spears?

If you are referring to small grilles to replace those plastic black ones behind the front wheels, check out eBay item #250476259418.

I've ordered mine and should have them in a day or so.

Haha yeah, that was what I was looking for. Are they chrome though, or the same color as the current spears? Thanks!

I'm quite sure they are polished (shiny) stainless steel. The original silver strakes (bars) are plastic and are applied on top of the new stainless grilles using double-sided tape or adhesive. Considerable care is needed to remove the three strakes.

Dan is living up to his reputation. Read carefully. They are a stainless steel "finish". I talked to him personally about them. They are in fact, plastic.

I see a pattern with this guy, and it is not good.

I doubt very much the set that I received is plastic, even somehow coated. It's far too heavy, too solid, and shows signs of machining. I dont know about any of his other products, claims or services. I do feel that he did deliver, to me, what I ordered.

I can do that -- first I'll post close-up photos of the grilles, then, when I get to the install, I'll photo the whole process.

As I understand, the biggest challenge is removing the existing three side strakes (the three parallel bars) as they are partly secured by double-sided tape and by tabs from the strakes into holes in the body.

If anyone has removed those side strakes and wishes to post advice, I'd love hearing about it before I start the process.

Once the existing stuff is off the car, the rest is easy -- the grilles secure by double-sided black tape pads and the stakes are re-attached using tape and the tabs.

I guess I will discover how easy it is once I start.

Here are a couple of pictures taken 8/15/09. I use a 14MP SLR Pro Camera with Nikon Macro 60mm lens. The images I am posting are small JPGs to make it easier and quicker. If anyone wishes to see a magnified portion of any image, let me know I can create a closeup of any image I've taken.

I am convinced these grilles are solid stainless steel -- by the feel, the texture, the weight, the strength. One image shows a black plastic "pad" that will be installed behind the grille. I havent started install process as I need to get some supplies, namely double-sided adhesive tape to re-mount the silver strakes. I will photo the install process once I start.
