Any idea how much a grille like this would be?
Any idea how much a grille like this would be?
I was doing a search for custom grilles for the crossfire, but I've never been able to find one I absolutely loved... the mesh grilles and billet grilles that people currently have just didn't do much for me personally. Then again, neither does the stock grille currently on my car. This, however, I absolutely love...
I love how the grille is inset, closer to vertical, with a thinner trim around it. The way it's inset like that makes it look like its scooping out the air to feed the engine... at least that's what I think.
The only problems i could think of with this would be mounting points (I don't know where they are, so if they're already that far back then it wouldnt be a problem) and the hood-latch sticking out too far. I don't know if any modding was done to that car for either of those problems...
Does anybody know how much it would run for a grille like this one? I can't think of any grille that I'd like better. Just my personal preference

I'll let you know when I'm done with mine.
Not too sure about mounting it behind the lip, but I haven't found an alternative.

I remember from a long time ago, some one made a grill out of honeycomb mesh. Satin Black, and it looked terrrible for just the reason you stated. I already made a recessed mesh SST grill-the final weld pulled in the lower lateral curves too much and it wouldn't fit just right. It's sitting in my garage as we pound keyboards.
Looked great (except for not fitting!) and you couldn't see the hardware behind it.
Wish me luck?

yeah I agree, I think if it was made of a bright material with a heavy wire, seeing through it wouldn't really be a problem.
And I was watching a show earlier where they customize cars (no, not Pimp my Ride ) and whenever the cars had the problem with the mesh grilles where you could seee through them, they'd paint the stuff behind it matte black and call it problem solved. You couldn't see through any more. Granted they were using a heavier wire and tighter weave in general, and always chrome

I'm just making it for myself. It will be a total PITA as I know from the 1st attempt. I will have it done, along with my dual CAI by Halloween. (Dragon Run). When it's finished, I can maybe make templates, but if you want one you'll have to wrestle with this stiff, unruly sharp-edged crap yourself!

I posted the material earlier. Order 2' X 3' ($95) and a pair of cut-proof gloves.
Sorry guys!
