Default Oh god no...

So I was trying to install HIDs and my buddy was helping... When he went to take the old bulb out he accidentally disconnected the little metal clip that holds the bulb in place... then it fell into the headlight assembly or another random part of my car....

Think Chrysler sells those clips alone???

100% the answer is no start bending a new one off of the other headlight assembly. Which reminds me I was going to make some of these but never got around to it.

Go to the hardware store and get a magnet that you can tie a string on. Try to fish out the clip that way. If it's inside there is a way to get it out.

Fishing might not work. If you must, remove the whole housing (2 bolts on top, two bolts underneath-remove the splash shield) and shake it!

if you do not want to remove the splash shield you can try the little compartment in the tire well that will get you access to the bottom bolts and you might need to remove the grill and loosen bumper to wedge it out. try the magnetic tool if not remove the light assembly.

you will need to make the part out of scratch like a big heavy paper clip.

Finally got it out after pulling out the lights... I got the clip out.

BTW to anyone installing HID's, pull out the lights it might take an extra hour in total but it is a very clean and calm install.

I use a block of rubber I made from a sanding block to hold the headlights in place behind the rubber dust cover. Effing clips. Horrible design.

Actually they are a very effective and simple design. Problem is the close quarters you have to work within. Removing the housing makes the change over a breeze.

My passengerside clip popped out...and it was hell getting it back in. My gf helped since her hands are small....got it back in turned out that it was around the wrong way. Back to the grind stone(for her anyway) I recently changed hid bulb and am very very careful when fooling with that damn clip!.

At least for me....separating the electrical connection was the hard part. I thought for sure something was going to break.

The clip was cake after dealing with that.

Yeah, same. I thought that I was yanking to hard on the plug.. how people struggle with the metal clip is beyond me.. all you do is push in a push a little to the side... ??? how in the hell can it be that hard?!

And separating the electrical connection is hard for you....? 0_o The clip goes in two pin holes...if they pop out you have to blindly align clip ends into pin hole.

That part only really took about 3 minutes...at most.

Just trying to separate the electrical connection had me pulling hard enough that I pulled out the whole thing, clip and all.

Is there a trick to the electrical disconnect? I really feel if I pull any harder I know I'm going to break something really expensive. I even tried the clip first and that's a joke. I'm taking a break and my fingertips are killing me. What am I doing wrong?

I'm replacing the left side now, but beause I bought two H7 Silverstars, I'll next attempt the right side. Looks like I have to remove something first...

take a break and then pull straight back you will have to pull hard and you will feel like the whole bulb and clip is pulling back. i wonder if it would help to put dielectric grease of some sort but yeah pull straight back there is not clips or notches to push in just pull back the plug.

There is grease formulated for headlight bulbs at most auto parts stores.

It does fit tight. I used a needle-nose pliers and grabbed the center of thr "H" shape in the center of the connector. While pulling, I rocked it a little bit. Don't twist, and don't jerk. Just a little rocking and it will come loose.

I have a bit of experience with this connector...
