Default Clear rear markers to match the front

I put a set a front clear European markers on a while back. Why not for the rear to match? I found some 194 red bulbs, but have to see what they look like at night. I might have to go with LEDs to get the look I am after. I don't mind seeing the red/yellow bulbs in them during the daytime.

At first I wasn't sure if I liked the front clear markers but I guess they grow on you. I found them to be very unique and had positive comments about them.

For anyone who wants to do this, they are same as the front just upside down and fit the opposite corner of the car. See the 2nd pic for modifactions to make them work. The originals can be put back in a matter of seconds.

Great work, James. Can you post pictures of the completed car?

This has been doner before, and a good write-up was completed too. I believe by someone that has a blue SRT6 - it's all onthe forum somewhere.

Really? I looked all over the forum before I did it on my own. I saw several members installed them in the rear, but couldn't find a write-up. Maybe you can find the write-up link for me so I can see how others have done this.

Thanks, James

James, that's his response to nearly every post. The first time I saw it was in Carlisle two years ago. I believe the guy was from Virginia and had an alabaster coupe. But, regardless, it is unique and is an easy enough mod to do. Thanks for your 'how to' for those that want to give it a go.

Andrew, what were those "invisable" bulbs that you used behind your clear markers? You know the one where you couldn't see the "egg yolk". Do they come in red?

I done my rears about 14 months ago. I used inverted cone LED's that are clear, but light up red on the rear and same on the front except they light up kind of a blueish white. I don't have any pic's of the car at night, but they look pretty cool. Here a larger pic of my avatar so you can see that you can't really even see the bulb.

I did a search and found the post I made when I done it and it does have a few pic's - https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=17062

Steve, I did see your pics a while ago and it helped me decide whether to do the mod. But I didn't see or read anything about what modifications had to be made to make them work.

Your car looks good with them. I stayed with the regular 194 bulbs for now. Red ones are available on eBay very cheap. The red 194 had a pink cast to them once I installed them. I had a spray can of transparent candy apple red and put a light coat on them. Now at night they match the taillight color perfect.

The way the inverted cone LED's work they reflect off the back of the marker light. It won't show up in a picture, but they make the lines on the clear marker light red. They really look cool at night, kind of hard to explain what I mean without seeing them.

Oh, but I did do a search for the 'good write up' but it wasn't there. It's all good though....was just making an observation.
