Default Painted grill black how-to info

New posting of my Crossfire and how-to info on the black Grill.

PAINTING GRILL BLACK

I did some research on the paint. It had to be durable so I used
"Dupli- Color" Truck, Van & Suv Acylic Lacquer black & clear coat.
(1 ) 11oz. can of each at $5.00 per can.

1. Remove the top grill screws and remove grill.

2. Wash & remove all wax and grease.

3. Sand surface with 3M "Wetordry" "Tri-M-Ite" No. 400 grit to dull finish.

4. Remove all dust & if you can, blow with air.

5. Mask off top inside mounting flang on the grill.

BLACK BASE COAT

6. Apply 3 light coats allowing 10 minutes between coats.

7. Allow last coat to dry 1 hour.

CLEAR TOP COAT

8. Apply 2 light coats followed by one wet coat 10 minutes between coats.

9. Allow clear top coat to dry for 1 hour.

10. Reinstall grill.
