Default Interior Lighting

I'm new on the site. Just got my 2005 Limited Coupe at Thanksgiving. I'm going to tackle replacing the dome, glove and trunk lights with Blue LED's. I saw some previous threads about this but I am still a bit confused about the length and number of LED's to order. I plan on using superlumination. Could someone help me with some advice here?

Two 194's (four lenses) for the dome lights; one 44 mm festoon (nine lenses) for the trunk; and one 36 mm festoon for the glove box (I didn't use an LED for that one). I also ordered from Superlumination, and everything went smoothly and without problems. Good luck.

I heard that 44 mm is too long for the trunk, that its more like 36mm. Also with the 9 LED Blue will the cargo area be bright enough to see at nite. Thx so much!!

Here is a comparison list that I received from Autoillumination when I switched out all of bulbs to LED's. Also you will need resistors to eliminate the bulb out light, they are also sold by Autoillumination.

Low beam headlamp
H7
High beam headlamp
H7
Parking light
2825 =194
Front turn signal
7507A (Use 7507 amber 20 led tower)
Rear turn signal
7507A
Tail light
7528 =1157
Stop light
7528 =1157
Fog/Driving light
9006
Back up light
7506 =1156
Front sidemarker
2825 -194
Rear sidemarker
2825 =194
Glove box
6418 =39mm festoon
Trunk/Cargo area
6418 =39mm festoon

I found this listing at Superlumination:

194 4 LED Clear Focused Lenses
Will these work for the interior dome lights over the dash? Sorry for so many questions. I want to get the order right the first time.

I used exactly the bulbs noted above and needed no resistors because everything worked fine and did not trigger the "bulb out" indicator. I believe the bulbs for the trunk light areas may be different for roadsters than for coupes. The 9 lens LED in the coupe trunk compartment does not produce too much light, but it is adequate at night (unless you're planning to read a book or something like that). I have had these bulbs in the car for over two years with no problems at all.

1- 44 mm 9 LED Fessoon Lens for Cargo Area
2- 194 4 LED Clear Focused Lenses for Dome Lights

This looks like what I need. Any comments on color. I have a Grey Coupe. I am considering red or blue.

See this thread re sizes. Color is personal and subjective. I am partial to green in my graphite coupe, but others prefer a different color, so just go with whatever you like.

I got a 9 LED Festoon for the rear and it didn't fit without some modding. of the light housing. I guess it depends on what kind you get.

I went with super white for the whole car. Looks really good if you ask me since it can be put to practical use if you need to find something.

The super white looks good. How much dimmer will the cockpit be if I use blue? Also there are a bunch of 194 LED setups at the Superlumination site, would all of them be compatible with the dome OEM bulb? I know that the Dome LED's would need to be one sided (directional). I think the 4 LED is the one most people go with. I also believe that these stay relatively cool and are not a threat to melt the lens. This is all news to me. I haven't worked on a car since my 1969 Firebird. The Crossfire has rekindled my love of cars. Of course I raised 6 kids between then and now (that didn't help).

if they're 194 bulbs they'll work.

I got the Superstar bulb, it's the 4th set down and the coverage is really good. IDK about non-practical colors. Yeah they look great but on that off chance that you really need to find or look at something you're kind of stuck. As far as being dim, who knows, all I know is that mine light up the interior quite nicely.

I went with the Superstar 194 Super White with the metal heat sink. Sound like a good choice. I went with the 39mm 9 LED for the cargo space based on some comments about the 44 mm needing mods. I'll let you know how they work. Thx for all the help. I don't think I can go wrong here based on the comments made. How hard is it getting to the cargo lite? Do I go through the access hatch for the brake lites or just pull the plate off the front off the lite? I would really like to get those great looking sill lites that I have seen on the forum. Anyone know how much they would run? Would a radio shop be able to do the installation work? It sounds a bit too much for me!

Open the hatch and pull out the housing. It's not in there very tight. If it doesn't work when you put it in flip the bulb around and it should work. The LEDs seem to be a little finicky with the polarity.

That black interior is quite sexy. Reminds me of a beautiful woman in a tight black dress. I might have to change my interior to black....
