I have a Roadster Limited 2006 and there are no flaps.
I unscrewed the luggage net hook and removed two connectors holding the trunk interior liner and then removed the three nuts holding the rear light assembly (using a 5/16" nut driver) and then removed the whole rear light assembly and changed the bulbs.
To get the bulb housing out of the assembly you have to rotate the bulb housing about 20 degrees and then to get the bulb out of the housing you have to push the bulb in and while holding it in, you need to rotate the bulb.
