External lighting.
External lighting.
Hi guys!
LEDs
I've just ordered some LEDs to replace the normal bulbs in the indicators, tail, reverse and fog lights and wondered if anyone else has done the same? I have fitted LEDs to other cars/bikes before and think they give out good light and actually make the car look a bit special/individual. However, on some models, a flash regulator is needed for the indicators and possibly another resistor to prevent the "faulty lamp" warning coming on (LEDs draw much less power than normal bulbs which means that some warning indicators are lit as they monitor the power being drawn by the bulb - if it falls below a certain level, the warning comes on to tell you that there's a faulty bulb).
So, now that I've shared the sum total of my technical knowledge with you if you HAVE fitted LEDs to the Crossfire, did you have to fit regulators/resistors to cure any problems? If I get no answers, I'll fit the bulbs when they arrive and let you know how I get on. I was just try to anticipate any problems so that I could get the necessary parts now.
By the way, if you're interested, the LEDs cost me about £7 for a pair and they are a direct replacement for the bulbs already in the car. If you want further details (bulb specs etc) let me know and I'll share what I know.
HID/Xenon Headlamps
I'm considering upgrading the standard halogen lamps to HID/Xenon lamps and have found a few places offering kits to do this. Has anyone used these kits? Have you had any problems? Your comments would be appreciated before I dive in and part with my dash only to find out they don't work on the Crossfire!
Cheers!

Re: External lighting.
i have the led tail lamp/brake lamp bulbs and they will set off/trip your dash light. i did not add resistors but a small piece of black electrical tape to the dash light panel. you would have to add resistors in order to eliminate the dash light from tripping.
i also have hid's for my lower beam headlamps... no issues with the mccullough kit. however some cheaper kits will create issues.
