Re: UK Members
Guy's, let's stop talking about meeting and just do it. Woody has already invited us all to a track day at Donington on the 21st of October. Personally, I can not afford to waste a complete set of tires on a track day (I believe a number of track driving lessons are required to achieve a cheep track day (i.e no new set of tires)). However, If we are going to meet (and I really think we should) It would be wicked to at least go and watch/support woody (Simon) on this track day. IT WOULD BE WICKED FUN. It would also give us a chance to get the inside story on some of woody's planned modifications for the crossfire.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Re: UK Members
Hi, this is my first post.
Recently bought a blue auto roadster and having fun in it. Had a lot of trouble finding a Crossfire forum for the UK and I guess this is it !
I only live about 30 minutes from Donnington and if there are a few meeting up there on the 21st I wouldn't mind coming along to find out more about owning a Crossfire as the more I drive it the more I like it.
Can't afford to blow a set of tyres on the track at the moment though, so would just be spectating !

Hi Jon,
Like you I was unable to find a Crossfire Club or site in the UK. You will like Crossfire Forum Org a good site and full of info and real keen Crossfire owners. I'm on the South Coast and have managed to touch base with a few other Crossfire drivers and attended a few car meets. There are Crossfire owners in your neck of the woods that are usuers of this site...Perhaps one day the very first UK Crossfire Club will start...much talk about it...buts its a real commitment to form an interesting club throughout the UK...One day perhaps a real leader will surface from our ranks and the UK Crossfire Club will be born.

Unfortunately I had to cancel the 21st at Donny as I got sent away for work for nearly a month.
Just got back into it all again last weekend with an outing at Cadwell Park. Funds permitting I might be up at Donington in the next few weeks in which case you are welcome to come along. Tyres are not always a big issue, especially if it is damp/wet and the surface is smooth. I had new PS2's on the front and 3 month old PS2's on the rear (they did several laps of the Nurbugring too) and they have hardly worn at all. Bruntingthorpe where I drive quite a bit is very abrasive though and can feather the tyres pretty badly.
I either of you really fancy a go on the track then I can probably lend you a set of 'smokers' for a few laps. Tough if your are sensible then you really aren't going to be wearing much out; a few mill of the pads and a tank of fuel. Or you can just sign on a passanger for a fiver, borrow a helmet and take some laps with me.
Here's a link to the Cadwell outing https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...029#post176029
As for other meets, has anyone though about getting down (up) to Brooklands. I've not been there myself yet and it would seem appropriate given our cars' MB links.
Cheers,
Simon.
Re: UK Members
Hi to all UK members. I have just joined and like the rest of you I think the UK site is very, well dead. I live in Kent close to Maidstone so anyone in the area who is a petrol head please drop me a line. I have a black coupe, auto and have worked in the auto industry most of my working life making OEM parts. Perhaps a local meet would be a start.

I know the feeling Malcb, that's why I keep disappearing every now and again - work has been manic all year! You are welcome anytime to come for a thrash round, not sure I will be doing much before Christmas though. I think the next outing might be Oulton Park in Feb with the GT3 boys again.
Re: UK Members please ALL read this posting
Hi
I think I have the answer to the much mentioned/suggested Crossfire meet. Location spread of crossfire owners seem to be the problom.
The Chievelery Service Station is located on the main juction of the M4 and M3 we could arrange to meet there. From the Midland to Chievelery and from the South Coast is very roughtly the same distance, so location and driving time should suit most of us. Location is not to exciting, and a garthing in the main car park is about the highlight of the day. BUT at least its a start to a fully flegged crossfire meet and the first.
The meet location is open to change...should you have a better plan of attack, do post it. Do we meet this side of Christmas or early in the New Year, on a Saturday or Sunday and I suggest time wise about midday...What do you all think?
Ken.
