Default Transmission grind (manual)

Hello!
So, little backstory. I bought a crossfire to learn to drive stick with. Love the thing! yeah, I feel a little guilty about learning manual on the crossfire. so don't hate on me, im taking care of the vehicle.
my concern though, has happened 3 or 4 times since ive been driving. usually on the highway. the first two times I was switching from 3rd to 4th gear. going into fourth the gear the gear grinds.
So naturally I figured my foot mustve slipped the clutch a little. My friend (experienced manual driver) drove my XFire last night and said the clutch pedal felt like it was shaking???
I tried to pay attention today but I cant notice what he is describing. But maybe this has something to do with what im experiencing???
So back to the grinding... on the way home today my foot was FOR SURE all the way on the clutch. I was coasting downhill and downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and got a pretty long and obvious 2nd gear grind.
just seeking your fellow opinions on what I should do to diagnose the problem.... take it to a shop or?? is it even a problem?? friend said check the clutch pedal screws?? don't know what any of this means because ive never done any work to a manual.
X-Fire has 98k on it
