Default Engine whine, ticking, vibration sound

Hi everyone,

My '05 Crossfire is making an odd sound that has intensified as it's gotten colder.

It only really occurs while in idle. When I depress the gas it stops. Any insights of what the potential issue is would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!!

Here is an youtube video of a Crossfire with the sound (not mine, but same sound):

Probably a pulley bearing or the alternator.

I was kinda thinking that might be something to investigate. Thanks for the insight, Robbie!

Take the serpentine belt off and spin each pulley/idler by hand.
( If you take the fan assembly out [ 2 clips and a harness connector and some wiggling ] - it's easier to get to all the bits/pieces )

Hi ala_xfire, is the idea of spinning each pulley/idler by hand to isolate the problem? Will one not spin well or make an obvious noise? Thanks in advance and also for the link to common problems and fixes.

Yes, when you spin them, feel for any roughness and listen for any noise.
The items to check are :
1. the alternator
2. the idler roller just above the water pump ( common problem of noise )
3. the water pump ( back of belt runs against it's pulley ) ( if this is bad, it's easy to tell, it should have NO wobble in it )
4. the tensioner pulley. ( common problem of noise )
5. the PS pump pulley
6. the A/C pulley.
