Syfi's DIY DCAI
Re: Syfi's DIY DCAI
I used one of these the first time I did my DIY DCIA:
http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/SPT9479.htm
It needs to be cut down to fit and also needs a 1" high piece of 3" silicone to connect it to the TB.
I still have the modified Y pipe and a ready to fit 1" high blue 3" silicone piece if someone wants it - $15.00 plus shipping costs. I may still have two 45 degree blue 3" pieces as well to connect to the two 90 degree aluminum pieces that then connect to the inline air intakes. If I have them, I would include also.

And I just couldn't see paying NW nearly $200 for a couple of sawed off 90 deg. pipe couplers. The brake ducts are computer designed for optimum air flow and are a little larger to catch more air. And @ a 1/4 the price!
My thoughts are that the inline filter setups will flow much better because of the directed straight flow of air at the front opening, whereas the curved front filter of the NW seems to breakup that flow up front and not be as direct into the intake opening.
Here is the 3" y pipe I am working on. It is aluminum. I haven't had time to finish it though.

Re: Syfi's DIY DCAI
I've got the Needswing elbow-maf housing.. for an N/A .. anyone got a source for a reasonable priced Y that gives hood clearance? Got the spectre Y and by the time you add to break over 90 degrees it looks like it's going to be too tall for hood clearance. I'm sure the rubber T would work.. but I'd rather have something that diverts the air to a down flow vrs the "collision" from a T

Looks very cool, but since your ordering the SL55 Y pipe.... why not just go all the way....

I did not see any change in boost on my car with different intakes.

Here's some pics with the "Devil Horns" installed. Still need to do some trimming on the drivers side one to get a proper fit...
