Default Cold Start Dies

Tried many times to search for anything relating to my issue but continually gets zero on the forum search, what it wrong with the search function within this forum? When I search same q on google I get lots of answers including many from this forum, google is a hundred times better search function than this forums search function. Today's google search turned up many items but none from this forum. Has policy changed in this area?????

Prob today is cold start die. Kept in garage, getting cold now, I start, warm up for minute or two, put in gear and it dies. If I warm up for a much longer time, no problem.
No codes shown, drives exc when warm, all other functions are OK. I can't be the only one w this issue???
Thanks in advance
Rick

Found out what it was... spark plugs. Old ones were oem ngk w merc logo right on them, I put bosch back in.
There was two plugs w small carbon deposits on them w 85k miles on them. Runs much better now and putting in in gear no longer makes it stall.

Thanks for the update. I have 90K on my car and have no idea if I am on the OEM plugs. I have a slight hesitation when I slowly roll into the throttle while in gear (when the car is cold) and I have wondered if it was that plugs. I have heard differing thoughts on how many miles we should get from them - anywhere from 60K to 100K. I think I am close enough to give it a shot if they are still OEM.

I got this car almost two yrs ago w 77k miles and it was from Dallas and had rarely if ever saw cold weather. I'd say the plugs started to degrade at 82k or so, I was pushing taking the plugs to 85k. I figured it out coz when it stalled or almost stalled I could tell a plug or two was fouled out by the choke rich mixture, but cleared up less than a minute later, I thought the plugs were weak and fouling out for a short time. Turned out to be true. Even w old plugs mpg was 20 in town w lots of cold start ups. Thats real good!
Autozone store price for plugs was 9.95 each, their online store was 7.95 ea, and there is a rebate of 2.00 each for all of 2013, so I got plugs for net cost of 6 bux each. Took the chance to clean coil packs and area from when small valve covers leaked before I fixed them a while ago.

Well even w the new plugs it started to stall when putting it in gear again... Figuring carbon was the cause I took it on the hwy and did some WOT up hills etc at 4-5k rpm and what do you know the stalling stopped ! This car really is used to putt around town but they really need to be blown out from time to time. Btw I use Phils 66 prem only. Why is there so much carbon in that gas?

If you search, you would see that there is a sticky on bringing us cars to canada. They do the stalling thing as they were not built to go north of the border, the colder it gets the more they get homesick and pull a temper tantrum. Its a territorial thing.
