E37, Manual?
E37, Manual?
Kinda new here. I'm busy, And I don't get on the forum much.
Here is my question. And if there is a thread already, please post a link.
I have an 04 6spd. It's getting near 100,000 miles and runs like a top.
I'll drive and own it forever. so I'm already thinking of the motor rebuild.
Most engine places you use your motor as a "core" and swap it for a a long block.
The E37 motor seems like a VERY similar motor with about 245hp(?)
When the time comes to replace/rebuild my motor, is the E37 close enough to the E32 to just swap in? Will the electronics work?
And how much HP will the 6spd manual in XF take?
I'm happy with the motor that came with it. But if when I go to put a motor in it I can just get the E37 with the extra TQ and HP for about(?) the same price, why not? I don't see how an extra 30HP would harm the 6spd? Plus, exhaust, intake and computer flash would put me at 260HP? Just an idea? Discussion?
If your going to replace the motor? why not?
