Default Symptoms are getting worse

My SRT-6 won't start normally every so often. I assumed it was the CPS so I purchased one at Advanced Auto, installed it and then the car would quit at 4000 RPM. Just shut off completely. So the stock CPS was reinstalled and every so often it won't start normally. By normally I mean after 2 seconds of cranking. I have another CPS to try and if that's not it I'm thinking something in the fuel or emission system might be going. The reason being is that recently I'll be sitting at a red light idling and the AFR will jump to 21 on the dashdaq for a few seconds and then go rich before returning to 14.7. Or could it be an O2 sensor? And the AFR's are not as steady at idle as they used to be. I haven't seen an issue at WOT or at the track but what ever is acting up is slowly getting worse. So lets go in order that the symptoms appeared.

1.- Ocasional hard or no start at first try. Always starts immediately on the second try. I did get a CPS code once, about 6 months ago which is why the Advanced Auto CPS fiasco.

2.- Ocasional check engine for O2 sensors when using octane booster. Never with pure 93.

3.- Stopped at a redlight AFR's jump to 21º for 2 or 3 seconds (maximum I have the dashdaq set to read) then go rich before returning to normal. 14.7

4.- AFR's not as steady at idle or cruise as before. Up to 15, down to 14, jumping up and down a few tenths.

Ideas?

The basic answer to the no start on first try would be low fuel pressure initially, due to the filter pressure leak down.

I would agree with 180..... sounds like the fuel filter is going on you..... but it is fairly easy to replace...

I'll check out the fuel pressure at the fuel rail this coming week. I have a nice fuel pressure gauge I can connect and leave overnight. I hadn't considered the filter regulator.

The AFRs jumping up to 20 at a stop light is the air pump test. If it fails you will get P0140.

If you have an air leak or low fuel pressure your long term fuel trims will be way +.

A bad check valve will cause the hard starting like stated above.
