Default Dirty coolant?

I did a coolant flush on my 04 crossfire (100,000 miles) about a month ago. Drained it, then put the flush addative in it, ran it then drained that then put all distilled water in it ran it again for 10 mins drained it yet again, then put the 50/50 mix of Valvoline G05 coolant and distilled water in it. Well today I open the hood and im checking everything under the hood and I look at my overflow tank and the coolant looks really dirty.......I cant remember the exact color the coolant is (G05) Does this look like really dirty coolant water to anyone else of is it just me????? ....I might just flush it again.....photo.JPG

I think the normal color of Valvolene G05 (HOAT) is yellow.
The long life version (5/150) is orange.

It is very hard to get a good pic at night in the garage. I changed mine out about a month ago but I used full strength, and refuse to use any kind of cleaner in my systems. I suspect you didn't totally rinse all the cleaner out and now you have contaminated your fresh coolant. Unless you drained the engine block, you did not totally drain the entire system thru the bottom of the radiator. With a flashlight I can see all the way to the bottom of my reservoir perfectly clear.

I put a small bottle of the rust preventive additive in there but I dont think such a small bottle in several gallons would change it such a weird color I think Im just gonna flush it again with just the norm 50/50 mix

James, you say you used full strength and someone may misinterpret what you mean.
You used 50% full strength antifreeze and added 50% distilled water.

You are advised not to add anything to this antifreeze, anything required is already in it. The only people who say you should add this additive are the people who make it and they are slightly biased in their opinions on the matter.
If you had a warranty this would be a good excuse for it to be declared null and void on cooling matters.

I flushed my coolant again and this is what came out..... Any ideas on what might of caused it? Engine oil level and color looks good and no sweet smell from the exhaust. photo.JPG Btw this is 4k miles on the coolant and it went from new to this color.

On your second flush, I hope you got every trace of that gunk out. This time, no additive and a true 50/50 mix and see what happens. James

Im at work at the moment so I can't check the manuals I have but I think the tranny cooler goes through the radiator....which I am thinkin is the cause of it now because I flushed it and drove it to work (30 miles) and its already starting to change color again, I have a 750 am apt at the shop tomarrow so I guess I will know for sure then.

early valero radiators leaked around the plastic side tanks on the r170. if it needs replacing make sure they use a behr radiator
