BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
Unfortunately you are finding out the truth in the phrase "there are no friends in business". Sometimes you just gotta let the cards lay where they are and watch from the sidelines. Even if I had the funds to help a good friend out in a situation like that, I would never do it. I have been called an @$$ many many times, but I have never been cheated either. Good luck with the endeavor miata, hope you can get something figured out before the second car prototype date arrives.

I just wanted to put out a call for possible replacement rather than it come time for my car, and me be short on full payment. Still hoping his situation isn't as dismal as lead to think, and at least 25% can be repaid. Guess I could see if Corky wants to keep my car for collateral on the balance due for an extra month or two...
You take care.

UPDATE
Hi D.J.,
Patience, patience, patience…. These first article pieces are always fun for the builders, but seldom for all the others involved.
We got a bit annoyed with the electronic problems and dyno runs (attempted dyno runs) and just jacking up the rear and letting it rip…..for a second or two. While it must be concurred, we put it off ‘til later and got on with the fun parts.
The concurrent development of parts, fixtures, part lists, instructions and photo documentation are all coming along well.
We will barrage you with photos shortly.
I understand you miss the machine. All the same reasons I love it and will constantly be looking for reasons to keep testing it for about five years. By then I’ll figure out how to keep it even longer. These are nice machines, as you are well aware.
Best,
Corky

You know... if I've ever been cheated out of money it might have been a 10 dollar bill at the worste. And believe me, this is the only person on this earth I would have stepped out like this for, he is that good of a friend. It's not like its up yours, more a matter of business is surviving, just not pulling hard into the black. And that could change in the course of a week to be honest. He actually had plans to pay back this week, before he found out his major screw up over taxes and licenseing. May just have to apply for another credit card and quit worrying about him getting things taken care of within the next couple of weeks. Sounds like a plan to me... just hoping carrying the kids car on our credit line doesn't shoot that in the foot. But like I say guys if someone is able to be on standby it would take a lot of stress out of my life right now!
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
The deposit date is already well past and obviously work is being done, but I would love to get on the "interested " list and would be willing to get a deposit in if it would help..

Bi-weekly (hopefully) reply from Corky.
Hi D.J.,
I’m aware I am a marvel of a communicator. Actually, it is much worse than that.
Two things; The Ceasefire project is largely Tim Pawkett’s job. Tim , chief injuneer and fabricator took a week off for a Hawaiian vacation, during which he intends to propose to long time girl friend Amanda.
Second, I’ve had guest coming out my ears for ten days.
Had to pay attention to guests. Possible major announcement in a few weeks.
At present we have:
Intercooler and mounts
Intake tubes: about half of those needed
Turbo mounting hardware in place
All decisions have been sorted out, save the oil return pump and turbo sump. I’m trying to justify making a gear pump rather than buying one.
We are developing the part list and instructions as we fabricate pieces. I won’t make any fixtures until we have everything where we want it. There are usually a few changes at the last minute. Although we are wiser with every new system, it never seems to make any difference.
I’ll have some pictures for you shortly after Tim returns. I’m working on it in the meantime, but that usually causes Tim much frustration.
Best,
Corky

Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
Mrmiata and I have been discussing His predicament and He has decided to Step back as the second protype. We have contacted Stephanie @ BEGI Regarding My taking His spot. Due to an accident I have not driven My cross in 3 months and really do not need It for a few months more. I have the money and time to put into this project so I decided to step forth.
My thanks to Greg for Helping Me.

LINKY
NEVERMIND!
Can anybody see anything? As far as I can tell nothing is different. Of course I don't remember what a N/A Crossfire engine looks like anymore since mine has been gone so long!
Come to think of it Corky and Crew have had my N/A longer than I have!
LOL (I think)

Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
And yes, the time this is taking almost (almost?) makes me glad my white car got totaled... because I would have been proto #1 originally, and I could've done without my car for two months, but not half a year (and counting)
Still, I wish you all the best of luck. I'm anxiously awaiting the outcome.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
That does not look stock to me. I do not remember that at the front passenger side of my engine bay. I thought they were going rear mount though. Not front. I would be happy with front
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
I think they just set the turbo in there while they took the picture of the back of the motor
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
it is a good storage area haha. I thought maybe they were sitting it in there to look at space. Not sure how it would work that way.
