And for a LOT less money, you could go the route Bob (Lantana) is going and do an NA V8 for dirt cheap and rear mount a turbo kit on it for less than the money of the SCed V8.

Fact is there comes a limit for me anyway, of the mods that give me the best ration of cost for benefit. the 8 would be about it for me, since I don't track. But dropping in a SC 8 would then mean all sorts of other changes, such as driveline, and probably support and components that would have me climbing the fence. For the inability then to really use this, albeit fun, would be a tearful waste. I think my back corner badge would read "NA8". but at this point, I can't see tearing a perfectly good engine out of her just for my own ego. Now if I could get one of the Neon owners to buy the 3.2 well, then , a trip to Milwaukee may definately be worthwhile.

Right now I would just be happy with the BEGi turbo in this car.

The V8 is definitely the most unique and impressive option. Seeing as how I'm still on the fence with all of this, I just plan to keep doing research. I really want this kit or something similar if I leave my N/A as is. The only downside is that you still don't get the hp you get with a stock SRT. With that said, I do believe I will being attempting a swap in the end and I might as well drop in the V8 vs the SRT V6. Go big or go home.

And no bloody knuckles to go with it!
I just consider that to be the "reality" of how much do you need under the hood.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
I am not saying that the N/A is not enough. I agree with "to each their own". I'm just saying if you are going to do a swap, then why not put in the V8? Not trying to step on any toes. I don't mind a few bloody knuckles here and there. I do believe they are inevitable when working with cars. A little blood adds character...ha.

I'll just check out the pictures when they come out with the blower sticking through the hood..

Quick question. I know someone will tell me to use the search box (believe me, I have), but I'm wondering what are some of the best sites to find stuff for the Xfire? Other than NeedsWings. I have searched through the forum, but most of the posts are a few years old. Thanks in advance.
Still anxious to hear about this kit!

Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
You already found all there is to find basically for xfire specifics. There really isn't much aftermarket support. Most upgrades are taken from other MB models as far as under the hood stuff goes. There are a few board members that make bits and pieces or supply used items. If you are looking for something specific checking old posts or asking if anyone has done X or upgraded X should get you some results. As far as online storefronts though, not much out there.

Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
www.needswings.com = Engine, suspension, exhaust, some brakes, other misc items
www.ctd-germany.com = Exterior dress-up, if still in production.
www.vmaxx.de = More overpriced (and likely obsolete) dress-up goodies
www.pogiparts.de = Interior brightwork
www.chrometec.de = Random overpriced rubbish
www.ebay.com = occasionally you'll find some random NOS goodies on there, avoid everything else.
That's about it. Lots of research is the key, as each specific mod has had numerous iterations and revisions, some more effective than others but ultimately it's a taste issue.

I still have about two years until I can actually do some work on my car, so hopefully there will be some new toys out there by then. Plenty of time to do research too. I'll continue to read on. Thanks again.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
Can't wait for this to come out. The wife and I were torn between the SRT and the Limited. Went with the limited for appearance and ride. Plus the only local SRT was not well cared for. A nice turbo set up could open things up a bit to her having more fun.
Has anyone tried a DIY set up with a standalone ECU like megasquirt? Swap to a thicker head gasket to drop compression a tad, then add Meth injection and you should be able to keep up with the SRTs...
Or are there plans with this kit to go beyond 6psi for those that want to add Meth and pull more timing?
I have a couple 928s and am very used to the lack of aftermarket support, having to constantly Mcguiver work arounds. I finally gave up, shoved a 434 SBC in and called it a day.
-Coolaide's other half.
