A fork in the road came up for me 2 weeks ago, on one side I had this kit and on the other I had a house. Unfortunately the funds for this have been used for a down payment and some closing costs. I had been watching the market for about a year now waiting for something good. I found this house that was appraised at 118,000, but was foreclosed. Freddie Mac only wanted 52xxx, so I am now in escrow. So far inspections are going well, it will cost about 3xxx to get the house in perfect shape for my family of 4 and most of the cost is painting inside and out/supplies.
Sorry for any Californians waiting for someone to talk to the smog ref first. If anyone needs help with that just PM me. I have all the needed numbers and info. Its a very easy process.

Hello. I'm new to this forum but I have owned my Crossfire since '08. I've just been reading as much as I can about the Crossfire. I was wondering if this kit is only available by getting on the list or if it is something that we will be able to buy later on down the road. I'm currently stationed in Kuwait and most likely won't be back to the States until 2014. I would really love to have this kit if at all possible. I love my car too much to try to replace it. I've almost got it paid off too...I'd hate to trade it in for a SRT just to have payments again. Thanks.

Secondly, I think you'll be in the catbird seat for the turbo by then, as I anticipate this build taking the better part of a year before the wrinkles are ironed out. Once developed, this kit should be easily reproduced and you shouldn't have any issues acquiring a kit.
If you must switch over to the dark side (SRT) I can assure you it's not that bad. I missed my Limited for about three minutes, and then I pressed the go-pedal.
Cheers,

Thanks for the warm welcomes...lol. I really don't see myself getting an SRT, it was just me rambling. Just seems like a waist of money on my n/a, just to trade her in. I like a good challenge anyway. From what I read, the SRT has a rougher ride anyway. I love the way my n/a rides. Either way, I'm looking forward to a nice turbo kit.

Given your circumstances - I'd probably have to give the SRT a long hard look before going back to NA, but already owning her it's full steam ahead with keeping her and working towards "All she can be".. LOL.
The murder left me bitter, I went for blood on the car's resurrection.

The ride in the SRT is as comfortable as falling down a set of stairs.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
yeah, I don't know, I'd be torn between just getting an SRT or back to another NA if mine got killed. Now if they made a white SRT like John almost had, well then no doubt it would be SRT. But I really like everything about the NA, except for thos rare occasions when.....
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
All this talk about more horsepower and turbos makes me consider just going big and dropping in a aV8 like Lantana did, but I just don't have the "know how" to do it. Even though there is less get up and go, waiting for a good turbo kit seems to be the more cost effective method right now as well.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
as above, when mine gets to that point, assuming all is good otherwise, the V8 dropin will be the way I go. the turbokit is cost effective, but in the end the 8 would be my choice to keep my white, and the ride and get the power.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
Good point. I guess in the end, with the V8, you do get more bang for the buck. Putting a V8 in her would be a good project for me while I'm at Wyotech. I've got two years to decide, so time will tell.
Re: BEGi Crossfire Turbo Kit by Bell Experimental Group
LOL! Oh heck, while we're at it let's just go and sneak a V12 in there. Just teasing you Frank. Fact is there comes a limit for me anyway, of the mods that give me the best ration of cost for benefit. the 8 would be about it for me, since I don't track. But dropping in a SC 8 would then mean all sorts of other changes, such as driveline, and probably support and components that would have me climbing the fence. For the inability then to really use this, albeit fun, would be a tearful waste. I think my back corner badge would read "NA8". but at this point, I can't see tearing a perfectly good engine out of her just for my own ego. Now if I could get one of the Neon owners to buy the 3.2 well, then , a trip to Milwaukee may definately be worthwhile.
