He likes us! He REALLY likes us! (ok, our car anyway)
Received the following from Corky after he drove the XF from El Paso to San Antonio. (portion edited at Corky's request)
It was certainly a pleasure to meet you guys also. And, a delightful trip too.
Wow, what a fine wonderful cruising machine!
Absolutely no troubles along the way.
The real difficulty occurred after stopping at McDonalds for coffee, it took me 15 minutes to find the cup holder.
The CF never missed a beat. Runs perfectly. The suspension is perfectly aligned. The tires are perfect, obviously. No rattles, no vibrations, no buzzes. The straight line stability of this thing is near perfect. The only car I can think of in the same league for stability is the Porsche 928. It also tracks beautifully through long fast sweeping bends. The tranny is marvelous and the clutch feels just to my liking. I was very comfortable in the seat, but found the window open caused a “beating” of the shoulder harness. …. No big deal, after I realized it wasn’t a heart attack.
It seems obvious that the moveable spoiler literally moves the aero center of pressure farther aft thus giving it a longer moment about the CG. That is clearly a contributor to the stability. A good stroke
Summed up, the CF is one magnificent machine.
Were it not for that cup holder
Best

His comments were why I asked him if I could post them.
Loves the car, hates the cup holder.
Almost sounds like he's owned one all along!
Below is a comment from another thread that was deleted for some reason???
It's another $5 for the part number!

Great comments, surprised there was no mention of the 1-2 shift in there, that is the only other thing I could think of that is brought up en mass. Can't wait to start seeing some progress and numbers especially. Slowly building up the cash until then

The wait is killing me... I just want to hand them a fistful of cash and say now please with a grin. I really thought a lot more of us would jump in.

Speaking of paying in full...and kits.. anyone in the Tulsa area that decides they want to do this, will be more than welcome to look it over on my car when it's done. And I'm sure the kits will be available on down the road, so if your on the fence we could probably take a run in her and see if it knocks you over on the "buy one" side.

Same thing for anyone in northern NV and CA. My wife and I are all over the place in the summer and would not mind if someone would want to check it out if they are on the fence.

At this point in time, the NA 5.0 V8 has the best power numbers (none provided yet for anything else) and reliability is off the charts. And come on, how sexy would a german V8 sound coming from the XF??
Glad to see options (finally) but still on the fence. Thanks for taking the plunge for the rest of us
