Mike, if I was shooting a bolt action rifle from a benchrest with match barrel, breach and bolt with .0001 tolerances along with custom machined projectiles, 3 inch groups would be an atrocity at anything shy of a mile but I'll take them with my little hand cannon at 25 yards any day of the week.

BTW, Doc, what's the pass/fail for your department? 50 rounds with 75% or better, half of which are at 25 yards or does your dept do the 5, 10, 15, 20?

Rudy.... just kidding man.... but 3" is good or bad. (Rapid fire 10 shots okay, slow fire 10 shots, not so much ) It's all just a matter of whay you want.

I like the old saying by ????, "only accurate guns are interesting." If it dosent shoot accurately, I'm not much interested in it.

Okay, so what happened to this Rotrex turbo anyway???

OK, I feel really inadequate right now. On an NRA 25 yard pistol target, I keep them all in the 10-spot which I personally thought was pretty darn good. I'm actually kidding about feeling inadequate. For me, that tight of a group means I can put all 12 where I need to if I need to.

Maybe pistol shooting would be fun. Seeing you guys talk about it, I may have to go out and buy a pistol. I bought a Sako TRG-42 years back, when I was still in the Marine Corps. It's chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. North Carolina had ranges I could use it at. Pennsylvania had two around me that I could shoot at. This part of Texas I'm in you can't shoot past 200 meters unless you're on someone's land, and I don't know anyone who'd let me. Hell, 200 meters, I can't even sight in at that.

I'll have to pass this info onto a buddy of mine. He is always looking for a nice gun buy. He got a nice dragunov. I love a good .308.

Yeah, tighed1, I would love to know how it worked out for Web. But considering the oh-so-warm welcome he was given, I wouldn't be surprised if he never logs into this forum again.

Don't think it was doc. The Web3.0 guy is in Houston and I believe the 'twin turbo' blah blah that someone mentioned about being angry at the forum was from Atlanta.

Oh well, **** happens.

Hi guys. I'm still here. In fact, I've been down pretty hard but I'm not out; yet. Suffice it to say, I've been dealing with a perfect storm of allergies, heart, GI, and back issues. On top of that, we've had family emergencies as well as a health scare with my wife. All have contributed to no progress what so ever on the crossfire.

That said, I've been working on one thing at a time and am finally starting to feel like my old self. So much so that I've put in about 40 hours lately on finishing up the turbo project car I mentioned earlier in this thread.

I still have a little wiring cleanup, install the chassis braces, and a couple other little things, then it is off to the body shop and out of my hair until it is time to tune.

I also pulled my spyder into the garage and got started. I have 1-2 full days as I get the time to get her back to stock and put a for sale sign on her.

Then, I can finally resume the project on the crossfire. I have about 90% of the components I need in hand. First up is to move the coolant reservoir to the other side, so I can start working on the main SC bracket in between installing the AEM etc.

I had my dual pulley made and it has been installed for about a 1,000 miles. I am a little worried about the amount of "wrap" with things in this position. I may have to add another idler pulley to the mix to prevent slippage under heavy boost. That or notch the pulley and go with a gatorback belt. We'll see, it is something to consider but in the end should be easy to conquer.

It looks like all of my old links are broken due to me changing domain names a while back. However, I'm not going to worry about it right now as I have a plan.

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting started back on some level the weekend after Easter.

I just wanted to post an update even though I have no real progress to report. I did finish up the turbo car and it is delivered. I also worked on my spyder, got it running and cleaned up a little. All of this ended up spilling into my weekend and will consume the rest of this week. I changed cams in my spyder so now I have to adjust the valves and do some knick knack stuff here and there to get her ready to sell. Next up, Project Crossfire.

I did decide that for the tranny I am going to go with the upgraded solenoids and probably change the tranny fluid for firmer shifts.

Mercedes part# A 240 270 00 89

I'm hoping the combination of the two will lock things up enough so the clutches will last. The other "more expensive and harder to install" option would be to have the valve body rebuilt.

glad you are back, and glad we didn't scare you off.....we are sometimes skeptical....but looking at your work, and hearing about this "stranger" in GA with a twin/turbo set-up...I'd say you are the guy that can do it...good luck....and don't be a stranger, or we will make things up about you....lol

Ha ha, oh well if I do I'll deserve it and by the way, thanks Doc. I have a way to go and I'm sure a hundred different quirks to conquer. The electronic side is one thing and I'm sure it isn't going to be a walk in the park, but I'll take that on one step at a time. As for the mechanical side, behind every great engineering project like this is a good machinist. I'm fortunate enough to have hooked up with the best and he takes my drawings, ideas, and rough-ins and turns them into absolute works of art.

Put it all together and in the end, I hope to build a show quality power adder that would make my momma proud
