The 7G tranny is definitely pricey but it would be an interesting piece to throw in the mix.

very pricey, but very tough. exactly what him or Latana may need as their power levels go up and up

projects take a lot of time and money....I know now that I have 2 of them, mine will slow for awhile. It just isn't an easy, or quick process to modify these little beauties. Hopefully, he is quietly working thru it and will make some hp...Lantana has been quiet as well. Wonder what hp dreams he is coming up wit?

I have posted a few updates on my Turbo thread. I am hoping to have most of the parts for it by the end of January. Unfortunately the kids wanted Christmas presents this year or I would have all the parts now.

this guys came out talking crap about the fact that even though no one else had boosted this car, he could and no one else knew anything.

now he disappeared, about the 10th time it has happened. Shocking.

anybody have any knowledge on the e240 motor? i googled turbo mercedes the other day and i clicked a link to the MBforum. apparently a guy with a e240 was successful in building a twin turbo setup. went from like 140 stock whp to around 300 whp. the key factor i scanned through the thread for was the Tuning. which seems to be the biggest factor in all of these projects. the only thing i managed to find was the use of a "powermod" ecu/piggy back and a voltage clamp, maybe larger injectors. the guy also solved the high compression issue by doubling up on the head gaskets. pretty cool! just wondering if anyone had any info on this Powermod tuner?

I seriously hope you're talking double thickness of the head gasket, not just slapping two on

If you are going to remove the heads for gaskets, why not cc the the combustion chambers and see how much you can open them up to reduce compression instead of stacking gaskets which sounds crazy. On a boosted engine the head gaskets are usually a weak link, stacking them wouldn't seem to improve this.

as an engineer, i have to say stacking gaskets is one of the stupidiest, if not the stupidiest, ideas i've ever heard.

like I said, it isn't easy and I have to say, Lantana has made huge leaps in his mods....not everyone is going to be as successful...but, it doesn't hurt to have an idea and run with it...sometimes in the enthusiasm, we put the cart before the horse...then we find out the horse was just a donkey, and is as stubborn as hell.....keep it up Lantana, I am recovering from my xmas as well, now I have to sells some guns to outfit the new purchase...lol

Get yourself an XD40 if you're gonna buy a SD weapon. Same size frame as the 9mm but with more stopping power (not much but every little bit helps). It also has dual safety and you have to know how to hold it or it won't fire as it has a safety on the back of the grip as well. That and they are a dead accurate hand gun. I've consistently shot 3" groups at 25 yards and have over 5000 rounds through it with it only jamming once and that was when I was shooting the range's reloads. Tssk tssk... I know you should never shoot those things.

Best handgun purchase of my life.
