Not to mention my thoughts on the increased sensitivity of our knock control system. The flaw in my thinking is simple. No matter what, they are still the same motor and the spark curves are going to be relative. The SRT-6's lower compression and the subsequent increase in spark is most definitely going to need to be pulled as load for load we are talking several degrees of advance across the entire powerband. I surely don't want to waste expensive gas running low AFR's as well as risk burning up my stock cats to try and compensate. Instead of trying "other" options and/or tricks, I'm probably much better off sticking with the AEM on top of the Srt-6 ECU.
That said, I'm going to hold off a bit until I can bolster the AEM and address my concerns with my connection issues. I also went ahead and picked up an Srt-6 IAT sensor. I decided that I can make it work with a slight change to the ic tube I made.

The Jerry tune would also save money. I had previosly talked to Jerry about this concept and he felt the Kompressor ECU will get you in the ball park and he could tune to perfection. Eurcharged has experience with running different forms of boost on the SRT ECU. They tuned the SRT that switched from factory supercharger to a turbo. You really should let him take a look at it. I would also reccomend that you use the SRT fuel system from pump, filter/regulator to injectors. I believe you stated you are using the SRT injectors already. You might want to look at the rest of the system and make sure it is equivilant to the SRT. Good luck with this and I hope it works out great!
However, regardless of my minor diversions from my “core beliefs” it all comes down to this. If I ever truly ended up with a car that was “tuned” by someone else and I didn’t have the ability to tune, tweak, and experiment myself, it would be the death of that car for me. The tinkering never stops in my garage and I always have something I want to try; cams, exhaust, pistons, pulley, etc. I’ve been spoiled in the past with either full ECU replacements and/or vendor level access to tuning software. With all due respect, I cut my teeth on road tuning, graduated to running a dyno, and tune vehicles long distance all over the country. I could never truly give up my pride and joy to someone else. If the SRT-6 ecu gets me 90% there and I can do the rest with the AEM than so be it. Hell, if it got me 100% there that would be cool but it still doesn’t account for the future. I’ll always need something to move forward so the AEM or a better replacement will always be on the table.
And of course, IF I reached a point of equilibrium where it would be fair to all involved to make a kit, the kit would take a different route for ease of use and installation. But I’m never personally going to drive around with my car in that configuration unless it is for testing.
If you really want to help, maybe you could take it up a couple of notches, refrain from stating the obvious, and help with something more substantial:
- Post a full translation of the Das menus in developer mode or a way to switch to English mode
- Find some coding strings and share
o Found any tricks to increasing line pressure, shift patterns, or other
o Any ways to increase knock sensitivity, timing reduction ramp up rate, max pull limits
o Any round about ways to increase or decrease spark or fuel – i.e. changing the octane rating in the ECU therefore a global increase or decrease in spark
- Dig up some factory spark and fuel tables to use as a reference
o List the overall difference in curves and associated AFRs between NA and SRT with EGR taken into account
- What boost curve is the srt-6 ecu is expecting to see and will I see the supercharger malfunction error if the Rotrex curve is lower; any way to change it without using the AEM to adjust the map sensor and re-tune?
- List the specs on the N/A fuel pump at stock psi and its flow with and without a boost signal attached
o Where does it max out
o Is it truly a 1:1 RRFPR or other
o Supported HP based on boost with increased fuel pressure
o Does the fuel pump lower psi with vacuum and will I have to work around
o What is the first bottleneck to address in the N/A fuel system
Re: Project Crossfire - a Rotrex Supercharged Limited!
I didn't mean to offend you if I stated the obvious. I totaly understand wanting to "do it yourself". I love doing as much as I possibly can myself. My thinking about Eurocharged was to make it easier for others that don't have your expertise to buy kits/ partial kits from you. The software needed to do all the tuning in the ECU is cost prohibitive unless you intend to go full time into the tuning business. Having a tuning solution that is proven from a well respected tuner such as Eurocharged would help others that want your system. I was only suggesting this from a marketing stand point. If the AEM is required, the wiring alone would scare away most people.
As far a DAS goes. I tried to get training on developer mode and the only place I found required me to be a professional repair shop.
Developer Mode is German only and there is no way around that.
JC Recording has some informaiton on Developer Mode on their site as well as a forum to ask questions. This is probably your best resource. Also Rudy has spent a lot of time self teaching himself and knows quite a bit.

Re: Project Crossfire - a Rotrex Supercharged Limited!
I say, "On with the show"!
So, a couple of things have happened lately. First, I inadvertently changed all my settings in Developer mode. Second, I got very frustrated with the fact that so many people out there are so reluctant to share and/or the overall lack of data, that I set out to conquer the beast myself.
It started out fairly rough, but I finally made it via my usual determination not to let anything stand in my way only to find a route that was 100x easier in the end!
So here is the challenge as this is what you see in developer mode:
As you can see; German. Well, you also can't cut and paste to Google translator. Well, I did find a way to screen print to a .pdf as you can see. I could then cut and paste to google but that was only half the work. I then had to sift through what in most cases ends up as German shorthand and/or abbreviations! Not to mention the fact that half the time the google translation didn't make any sense so you have to search endlessly looking for the same words used in a similar context to get closer to the real meaning.
Then came the really hard part and that was deciphering some of the BS abbreviations and/or acronyms.
So I ended up with a several page word document that I will upload later as I don't have it handy at the moment. THEN, while looking in another part of Star Das I come across a summary screen of the current coding config (non developer mode) that lists most of the options in developer in plain English!!!!!
Go figure!
In my research I found out a TON of answers to almost all of my questions. I'll post some more on the acronyms later along with the rest of the translation for the coded listings. Also, there IS a way to globally reduce spark via the Ron adjust setting as well as a way to increase the speed limiter, disable the 02 check after the cat etc. Not all tested but there for myself and others to pursue. I expect that some already have and hopefully they will share to prevent a retrace of steps already taken.
Lots of things to see, but beware, don't muck about unless you are ready for some downtime
Once again, I'll post more later as I'm in a rush at the moment but the best is yet to come. I have lots of tips to share on das in general which are again fairly lacking from what I have found to date.

Re: Project Crossfire - a Rotrex Supercharged Limited!
That's the important stuff! I want to edit the screenshots I made of "developer" mode and post them up later. Since I lost my stock settings, I'm not sure of a few like 339, 340, 352. It would be great if someone could shoot me the stock settings for each in PM or other and I will note in the master list.

Man I remember when hopping a car up was headers and a big carb. Then maybe a cam, bore out .040 and think you had something. You have done an outstanding job with this labor of love. I hope that when you are done your work can be rewarded by selling a kit or some form of kit etc.
