Default ___RECALL - Cooling Fan

In the event that someone is not aware, there is a cooling fan warranty recall. I had reason to have my battery replaced and the service manager informed me that a recall existed for the cooling fan on my '06 roadster. According to my repair ticket, the job number is CDD2E190. He claimed that the motor was being replaced due to the possibility of the old design catching fire. (????) Whatever the reason, it was a warranty issue.

Put the last 8 digits of your VIN HERE and it will let you know if you need this service performed.

Even if your car isn't in the VIN range for the recall you should still be careful. My car was made a few months before the so called affected units and wasn't in the recall but I still had to replace the cooling fan at around 20k miles.

Funny, I recently followed the only other red crossfire in my (po-dunk) town to meet the owner and she asked me if I had trouble with my cooling fan not working properly. Seems hers would just NOT work all the time and cause overheating. Maybe soon I will be the only red crossfire around
