Give your local MB dealer's parts department a call (yes I know it's still a Chrysler - no matter how many emblems you stick on it!)

Tell them you have a 2003 MB SLK32 with the 3.2L Chrys....ahhh AMG Supercharged Engine.

They'll have the info lickity split - then you can call your Chrysler dealer and they can cross reference the MB part number to the Chrysler part number, Chrysler can then order it from MB for you (about a weeks time) - place their label over the MB label and charge you twice has much then if you had purchased it from the MB dealer direct.

Don't cha just love these Chrysler's...................

For some reason they call it an o-ring.

As much as i HATE Mercedes, after i couldnt find any info at my local dealer i went to the Mercedes dealer and tried to find the part. The one in Maitland, tried to help but didnt have the part in stock, so he called the one by the Millinia Mall for me. They said they had it in stock so i went to get it. Once there, the gasket was the wrong one (flat paper gasket) and i asked if he could help look up the right one. I told him i had the 3.2 supercharged engine and he told me that Mercedes never made a 3.2 supercharged and that the only supercharged engine that Mercedes made was a 4cyl. The guys name was Jason in parts.

Long story short-

I had a check engine light yesterday and took it to the dealer. After having my car all day, they told me that the gasket was ripped and blamed the aftermarket intake for causing the rip, so no warranty repair. After searching both local Mercedes dealerships for any kind of help, i went to a used car lot and almost traded for a Roush stage 3 mustang, but just couldnt find the heart to actually own a Ford. Thank god this forum provided a part number, cause god knows my local dealership is worthless.

Thank you for the part number. I called the parts department this morning and ordered the part. The parts guy said it was the wrong part because they were on the phone all day yesterday with Chrysler trying to find the part number and couldnt believe that someone such as myself could find the number when they didnt have a clue.

As of last night, the only "solution" that the dealer had, was to order a new supercharger and use the gasket that is included in the kit. Of course they wanted me to pay the $6800.00 for the supercharger. The part number you gave me for the o-ring had a total of only $11.50, so i guess you saved me $6788.50....

Sounds like quite an ordeal for a gasket.

I'm somewhat lucky - the local Chrysler dealer has a great "German Specialist" mechanic who knows my SRT and is a good guy to work with. Unfortunately their parts department has no clue about Crossfire parts. The Mercedes dealer next door is a great - both parts and service. They have had every part, gasket, and sensor I have ever needed.

my local dealer yesterday, when i first got there, was bragging that they had 2 certified crossfire techs, after trying to figure out this gasket mess, i dont think they are qualified to change my oil

ok...kind of an update...part # 05102933AA is supposedly an o-ring that fits to the rubber spacer gasket, but is not the spacer gasket...according to the dealer.
part# 5143102AA was supposed to be the spacer gasket (at least thats what another dealer told me) and the dealer that my car is at says its the air box gasket number. so i am back at square 1...

Mercedes is no help.... I am hoping that maybe someone else has a part number or pic that might actually help my dealer. thanks again

Mutt,

I'm going to the MB dealer after work to pick up some filters. I will check with them.

do you want the black plastic spacer - or the gasket?

I'm at work so I won't be able to check until I go home and look.

It looks like it would be the #600 part...is this part about 1/4" thick? if it is a paper type gasket, then it is the wrong one...i will still pay for them no problems....

Third day car is at the dealer. yesterday they took pics and sent to michigan, and service guy says we are on the third tier parts guy now...whatever that means... he was actually saying that they might not be able to find the part and i might want to think about getting rid of the car...which at this point, the Mustang is looking better and better....

OK MUTT

I think I got ya squared away - if the part you are looking for is the one between the arrows in the picture below; then you will see that I updated the illustration in post #12 with the MB part number red. ($120.00)

The reason you and all the dealers are having a hard time locating it - is because it's part of #100 and not sold separately. (Maybe there not so lame after all)

Good luck....Hope this helps you out.....

Wow, that is unbelievale to have to go through all of that. The guy at the Mercedes parts that said Mercedes never made a 3.2 supercharged engine should be shot! How can they have those Bozo's working there? Anyway, good luck with everything. I only live about 30 minutes from you which means I would probably have to deal with the same people in the future.

well, the dealer ordered the part from germany...it arrived today, with NO gasket....the last i talked to my service guy today, he says it looks like i may have to order a complete supercharger set-up for $6800, (plus tax of course)...even though my car is still under warranty, because i have an aftermarket intake on it, they are not going to warranty the gasket, which means as it is at the moment, in order for my car to run, i will have to spend $6800+. so unless i can figure out a way to stack the super chargers, then i will be letting the car go. 10 days of dealing with chrysler and mercedes sucks.
