Thanks bro!

As long as you're moving, there's no issue with heat soak at all from what I can tell. If you sit in traffic for a minute or two, the car loses some of its "snappiness" but it quickly recovers once rolling again. I figured since I don't race on the street, it's a non-issue.

This isn't a permanent solution, but it will get me through the next few Cars 'N' Coffee events. Once the weather cools to a reasonable temp in the fall, I will likely throw on a dual CAI/SL55 intake but for now I'm enjoying the fit and finish of OEM. And that sound...

Sorry for the newbie question!

I' ve had my 04 XF since 12/11.

Could someone please post a stock air intake setup.

I'm not sure if the original owner had DCAI installed. I've tried to determine this several times....it "looks" like the intakes go at least flush with the radiator....I really can't tell. I do know it has A K&N air filter on it.

Thanks. I've tried searching several times....but

Install start button as per instructions. The button can be installed just ahead of the driver window switch. I forget what color the start wire is at the switch. I mounted the relay module next to the ignition switch.

Finally got around to purchasing a MB engine cover. Patched the cutout on the left side with bondo (I'm a noob, needs to be retouched), and sprayed with primer, then Krylon Catalina Mist spray paint. No sanding was done in preparation, just a thorough cleaning.

Here are some pics:

Cleaned the K&N air filter tonight....bugs!

ok guys...please don't beat me up. I want to learn. I have read, read, read lots of threads here.

Why is the CAI thing so much better that stock!

I get it, that the cooler air intake is for better engine performance.

But, the stock intakes ARE in front of the radiator. Both sides.

I see the Needswings are even closer to the grill though.

I am a grasshopper....you are a rock.

Thanks for everything I have read here. I'm am here to stay, can't see selling my XF.....ever. Love it!
