Very nice. Can't believe the price difference.

Here's a photo I took yesterday of SRT-6 Steve's engine bay while at Dallas' Cars 'n Coffee. I desaturated and over exposed the photo a bit to help illustrate the shine of the black painted surfaces inside the bay. He has hand polished ALL the black paint as if it has been clear coated. That includes the bottom of the hood. He even polished the aluminum heat shields behind the engine.

FP, Gary saw this and said you have some work to do.

Note that the grill mesh is really chrome. The color of it in the photo does not accurately reflect the correct color.

FP, I have yet to see a picture that really does it justice. Dan's camera and his tweaking helps but you really have to see everything in person. Ask Gary to tell you about it as I called him over to take a good look so he could pass it to you. Don't know if you remember or not but I was describing what I did to get it up to snuff at the Carlisle show.

Mine is earlier in this post. You picked a good place to start and just pick away at it. It takes a long time to get things where you may want them. Not too bad to maintain once you reach it.

Clean the engine bay with an engine degreaser. Use appropriate product depending on the severity of grease/dirt. My engine bay has never been greasy, so I use Simple Green, which works well for me. Caution using water around electrical components. The thing that makes the engine bay pop is what you use as a detailer. I use CD-2 Engine Detailer. This stuff is absolutely amazing. After the engine bay has been cleaned and dried, spray CD-2 liberally all over the engine bay and let sit for an hour or so. Then drive the car for about 20 minutes to set the spray. The result is nothing short of incredible.

I got the Needswings Single CAI last April.
Just cleaned the engine/engine bay and applied CD-2 Engine detailer.
I then received this used MB Engine Cover today for only $50
These things cost $206 new at Mercedes Benz.
