The recipient of this drivetrain goes by the name Crossfire SRT-6, and it's rated for 330 hp and 310 pound-feet of torque. Like the original Crossfire, it's available as either a coupe or convertible.
"On their own, the SRT-6's output figures are impressive, but glance at the SLK32's specs and you'll see that it's listed at 349 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Why the difference? "Calibrations to account for [tighter] emission standards," was the explanation given to us by the SRT public relations staff. Only the most serious drivers will detect any differences in actual acceleration, though: Chrysler claims the 3,240-pound SRT-6 coupe will sprint to 60 mph in five seconds flat, while an SLK32 of similar weight can reach that velocity in 4.8 seconds. Additional modifications were made to the exhaust system to set the Crossfire version apart from the SLK original, and we can attest that the SRT-6 sounds great coming out of the blocks."
Others speculate that MB just couldn't allow Chrysler to match the AMG versions of its models as a matter of badge and brand snobbery. After all, if it was strictly a matter of emissions standards, then how could MB even sell the SLK32 AMG in the US in 2004?

Re: slk32 amg and srt6 (restrictions)
Has anyone done a dyno on an SRT-6 to see what the real horsepower is? The delta of 19 HP might be in the computer/tune...or it could just be underrated to keep the AMG SLK32 owners happy. I tried to check the forums for dyno numbers...but I could not find any numbers for SRT-6s.

Re: slk32 amg and srt6 (restrictions)
I was thinking about contacting a MB service dept. and see if they would load a slk 32 amg program. Don't know if they are different or if they would even do it but if it is different and they would do it thats 20 hp for maybe a couple hundy. I would first like to find out if there is a difference b/c I would hate to waste the money.
Re: slk32 amg and srt6 (restrictions)
Makes you wonder if it is just in the tuning then why not but a powerchip from a slk32 amg they claim close to 373 hp when done. That's 40 more horses for $900 bucks. 394 when software suits pulley, whatever that means. Is it just the ecu flash I don't know.
Re: slk32 amg and srt6 (restrictions)
I think with a SC that it is possible to have that much tuning left. The exhaust may be a little choked up as well. But this is all assuming that the hp/tq numbers are not underrated. I have been looking around and I have seen some C32's reporting 1/4 mi mph very close if not faster than what I am seeing here and they are a few hundred lbs heavier. I wouldn't think that the cams or intake would be any different but that is something that probably only AMG could/would tell us.
Re: slk32 amg and srt6 (restrictions)
For what it's worth...I received an e-mail from RENNtech regarding a question I had about their ECU upgrade and pulley for the SLK32 AMG and SRT-6...I also asked about the difference in the 19 HP between the two cars and, according to RENNtech, the difference is in the Cams and exhaust...interesting.
Re: slk32 amg and srt6 (restrictions)
The extra HP in the AMG car is a product of slightly different cams and the design of the exhaust.
You can expect the same performance increase for the SRT^, the price is $2995, not including shipping or installation.

Here is the actual e-mail I received from RENNtech...Bob Brady is in sales and his e-mail is on their website.
