Need some body paint advice

Default Need some body paint advice

I have to remove and replace the anti nick tape that sits under the back of the convertible top on the rear deck. Has anyone done this? I imagine a heat gun is part of the job and I have found the replacement tape. The body shops around here don't want to tackle this job so it seems it's a DIY. Thanks for any input.

Quite a few owners have simply removed the tape and polished up the paint.
maxcichon for one removed his years ago and he has had no problem.s

Nothing to say, really.

Heatgun for removal. Slooooowly. Don't use even plastic tools to help. If it rips while pulling, use your fingernails to catch edges.

Don't ask why.

Replacing the tape should be very straight-forward. Once you start-don't pull on the vinyl-it will stretch and end up NOT where you thought it would go...

Did you re-tape yours or just leave it be? Mine is off now and yeh, that is stretchy stuff.

I left mine off and replaced the tape for a friend.
