Default Waterless Wash Products from UltraLuster???

My parents live in South Florida and right now they are under a water advisory and can not use water to wash cars . My dad is desperately looking for something to be able to clean his XF and his truck without using exessive amounts of water. These products look interesting, but I would like to know if anyone has any experieince with them??? I have always been under the impression than waterless cleaning is usually very harsh on a vehicle, but when you have no options.... sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.

Mike, if you come across this, you opinion is more than welcomed.

Thanks everyone.

What county in South Florida do they live in? Most counties down here actually don't have a restriction for washing the car.

The two best products on the market today for no rinse, limited water use washing are Optimun No Rinse (ONR) and Protect All Quick & Easy Wash Stick with either of those and you'll be fine, just make sure to use plenty of clean microfiber towels in the process. While I've not personally used either of these, they are both highly respected and widely used among avid detailers who have to deal with water restrictions. Either is a good choice for people living in northern climates as a winter wash inside the garage as well.

Mike - A question. Would you use one of those products on a car with salt and sand build up? I would seem to me it would be like using sandpaper on your car. I think I saw a video on the Optimum product but it still scares me. I could understand using if your car was dusty but it scares me to use something that could be turned into an abrasive. Your thoughts master................

You know, Pat, I've always been skeptical of these products but they are very popular and people whom I know and respect have used them on very dirty vehicles with great success. Almost every one of those guys admitted to being either surprised or downright amazed at how well they work. Honestly, when these particular people say it works, and works well, I have no reason to doubt them.

I guess if we were to get a run of below freezing weather I might be inclined to try them but as long as its above freezing I'll do it the old way, rubber gloves, 3 sweatshirts and my down vest and a stocking cap. By the way I now apply my wax/polish with the PC, duh! Thank you Mike.

Pat Mike Optimum works, I can't remember the last time I took out a hose to wash my cars, and Pat you've seen my black Crossfire. I use the 2 bucket method to wash off my mit before dunking again in the optimum bucket I make at least 3 fresh buckets to do the whole car that's a total 0f about 12 gls of water so I don't know how much water I'm saving.

I know Tony your car is beautiful. I do use water conservation though when I wash my car, alway use the spray nozzle and turn it off if I am not rinsing unlike other people we know who just leave the hose running, go in and have lunch, call girlfriend, play with computer, watch tv and then I get home for lunch and they say, "darn forgot about that hose!" That's why I make him pay the water bill. I'll have to check it out for the winter. I can't see my self out there much longer when its freezing cold. Your car is living proof it doesn't scratch the paint.
