a big joke between my buddy who uses this product...

he states, he has "30 coats" of liquid glass on his car. I always ask him...how he still fits his car into the garage?

apparently the company states, this product "builds coats up" each time you apply it. like it never ever wears off.

however, i hear good things about "liquid glass".

Autoglym is the best IMHO.

I used to be HUGE on Meguiar's, but I've switched to Griots Garage www.griotsgarage.com I mean I still like Meguiar's NXT, alot, but I'm converted. Priced accordingly, Griots makes very high, quality items. Also, they offer a Carnauba that's 33% carnauba, the highest on the market today, according to them. I think if you check them out, you too will be converted!

Oh yeah, liquid glass 2 coat minimum. The car needs to bake in the sun between coats. Wipe it off with a little "Final Inspection" from Meguiar's when it gets a little dirty.

You will be amazed how slick your car feels!

I'm sure the liquid glass is good but you still gotta clay as the grit still accumulates on the top of the paint. I always wanted to try that stuff just to see what its like. I take it that its more of a "shine enhancer" then?

i have found the liquid glass keeps most of the grit from sticking and you wont need to bar it all that much. It does increase gloss but works best on paint in good condition. Obviously your xfire has good paint but on older paint any oxidation should be remover first with other products.
Liquid glass is not cheap but i feel it is worth every penny and i would buy it if it cost even more.

I am starting to feel like a liquid glass salesman...

I find it holds up better than any carnauba wax i used to use. On my drivers i use it 4 times a year, sometimes a little more during show season because i am ****.

I swore by mother and meguiar's until i learned about this stuff. I still use mothers and meguiar's on other stuff but L.G. is superior.

I manage a shop that restores classis mopars, It is all we use on hemi cudas and such, trust me it will work wonders on your crossfire.

Zaino is the way to go. It takes time and effort, but Zaino has a great starter kit on their website. Once you spend the time for the set up wash-clay-wash-z5-detail spray-z5-detail spray-z2-detail spray. you will not be disappointed!

I used Zaino for the first time yesterday and finished up this morning. I really didn't check around on the forums and just followed the instructions given with the kit. I did what DntXme stated, only without the detail spray in between coats.

I can say that the results are good and even the best yet in some views, but not the TADAAAA!!! results people have stated.

I have a blaze red xfire. After Zaino, does it look wet? Well, not like carnauba wax looks wet(had carnauba on previous cars). However the clarity is fantastic. The metal flakes in the paint really, REALLY stand out... almost three dimensional. Essentially I used ZFX cured Z5 then Z5 then Z2 then Z6 then Z8(<--Z8 made the red really blaze).

I'm going to try it again next weekend to see if I can get the results others have stated. It could be that I just don't have the color for a "wet" look.

I tried this after using NXT wax. I can say it's better than NXT but not in ease of use. Zaino is easy to put on and off but the whole process is a bit daunting. NXT had about the same shine but not the clarity.

I Like Klasse AIO/Klasse Glase. Use Mothers Clay and Sonis Detailing spray/glantz. Seems to do a good job, but then I haven't tried any of the others mentioned.

Jeffro, you do have the color to have the "wet" look and I'm glad your happy with Zaino, for the most part, but all in all, was all the work worth it? I don't want anyone who uses Zaino to take this personally, except the guy who called me an idiot for using Griots, but doing a clay and 3 step once using a premium wax system and then keeping your car maintained should be the way to go, instead of Z2, Z3, Z4, Z5, HIKE! I bet you only have to this initially and then only once a year if I had to guess, but come on already. BTW, can some tell us all what the entire "system" costs from Zaino. The reason I ask is because the guy who called me an idiot for using Griots said that Griots is "insanely expensive" and FWIW, here's my breakdown...

-Griots clay bar...$20.00 step #1

(they don't offer a paint cleaner, so I use Meguiars premium paint cleaner, only available from them directly...$15-20.00) step #2

-Griots fine hand polish...$13.00 (16 oz)

-Griots "best of show" wax...$20.00 (16 oz) for great clarity and 3 months of protection or Griots Carnauba paste wax (33% content) for $20.00 (8 oz) and would give you up to 6 months of protection or you could get their new Paint Sealant for $20.00 (16 oz) which gives you up to ONE year of protection, but has less emphasis on clarity and for the record, still has a great shine. You only need to use one of the (3) products above as its the "finishing wax" in the system.

So my math says $63.00 for the actual applied products and your going to need some detailer for the clay bar and general maintenance so I always get the gallon jug because of how much I use and the cost of buying in bulk and that's $30.00 a gallon, so even with that, your a hair under $100.00 and that's going to last you quite a while, even if your like me and rub on the car all the time! So again, what's the price of all the Zaino products they tell you to use, don't leave out the half dozen Z#'s either.

This is my normal steps:

Clay Magic Blue Clay
Klasse AIO
Klasse Glaze
Pinnacle Soverian Wax (a little expensive but worth every penny).

Hey AB,

I'm familiar with Griots. In fact I still use the vinyl/rubber dressing and wax remover (the solvent on a sponge that helps remove dried on wax). The Vinyl and Rubber dressing is THE BEST for the trim on the outside of the car.

I tried Zaino again and got better results, still not that TADOW!!! in your face results others have described. However, I must say that I am pleased with the ongoing maintenance part of the kit. Z6 spray is just as easy to apply as NXT, it wipes on and off. For some reason Zaino has literature on the difficult of use but I have not experienced that at all.

I got the Total Protection kit and the Z-8 spray. It put me a little over a $100. Yes, it's one of those "once every 6 months or a year, or as often as you like" applications. After this then you just need the car wash and the Z-6 or Z-8 spray. Obviously the simple part.

The whole kit application is a bit of a pain, but only because of the overall process (the whole rinse n repeat act). However, I much rather deal with that than a wax that will turn white and is a bit of a pain to take off. Can't speak on the long term just yet, will see if it only needs to be done every half year.

I have yet to try Griots Best of Show and will give it a shot sometime in the next year. I still wonder about the Blaze red color of the crossfire. It looks striking, but not as nearly the mirror type finish that darker colors obtain.

I just used it for the first time and must admit it's the best thing I've ever seen! 2 days ago a added the 2nd coat. Today I drove about 200km. When I arrived my front looked like a midges cemetery, insects in every color and size. A little later there has been a cloudburst while my car was parked outside. When I came back almost all the insect stains were washed away. The rest I easily wiped off with a towel. Never experienced something else before.

Great product! Won't have anything else anymore.

Boy this is an easy one. ZAINO! the best polish products I've ever used. I brought the car home on July 15 and spent the day putting on the first coats. It gets a coat at least once a month. By far the best. For those of you that have just one coat, just wait til you put on more. I've used it for four years on the two PT's I owned and the shine and depth of shine is stunning plus there is no residue at all on your polish towel. I've tried a ton of other stuff but Zaino, Zaino, Zaino.
By the way I use the Z-6 after every hand wash, absolutely no car wash will ever see my car.
Pat

How's the tranny now and the radio?

I had my stereo replaced once before and am having the exact problem again. I also have the hard to get into gear followed by the popping out of gear in forts. Has yours been fixed yet? What did they do to it to make the problem go away?

By the way I use Black Magic Wet Shine liquid wax, Spray wax detailer every other time I wash her (which is once a week in summer and twice a week in winter) Tire Wet, and the new teflon wheel cleaner. The wheel cleaner seems to work better than any other on the mkt because as it says, there's a clean film of teflon dried on the wheels. This helps keep the new break dust from sticking to the wheels. And Armor all extra shine on the rest of the exterior and definitely on the interior.

I just added my 15th coat today because I've been razzled by a Zaino guy over in the Contour forum. Mind you, I got the car on April 26th. I also wanted to add an extremely fresh coat right before I go and run the Dragon this weekend, but I've added 2 coats in the past 2 weeks, so this third coat is to ensure great gas mileage and looks while I'm down there carving up the roads! LOL!
