We started the coding last night, needed a little assistance from Jim in PA this morning.

We continue to hit the same wall over and over.

When all of the coding is ready to be written to the ECU "Teach In Of Drive Authorization System" It isn't allowing the ECU to be Personalized. "Personalizing NOT OK"

Josh is pretty confident that the coding is all correct...……..

I'm not a tech expert so this is pretty much in his hands.

I hope it turns out a simple fix.

 

Josh is still working on it, he probably has 8-9 hours trying to figure out what is going on. Simple it has not been.

Pretty sure he is on the phone with Jim too.

I have so much "hope" wrapped up into this project that I had to come inside the house and sit down for awhile..... I'm mentally exhausted, physically too, was up till 3:30 AM last night.

It's going to run eventually..... others have too.

Had we not run into this issue, coding would have taken 30 minutes.

It's not even really "coding" in the traditional sense. You select items from a drop down menu for each parameter. There's no 1's and 0's.

Update:

Josh is overnighting another Virgin ECU, along with my original ECU tomorrow.

We will fire up another Coding Session Tuesday night around 11:30. I'm a second shift worker and that's 15 minutes after I get home.

Coding has been postponed to Wednesday night, early Thursday morning.

USPS couldn't overnight the ECU's for whatever reason, so Priority Express guaranteed delivery on Wednesday.

My original ECU is coming back as well, and will be used to start the car to verify that it will run.

The V8, believe it or not, will run with the V6 ECU.... on cylinders 1 through 6. Cylinders 7 and 8 will have no fuel and no spark.

On a positive note, Josh gets a refund for shipping.

I hate it when I read threads that don't stay updated.... this is an "edge of my seat" project.

Tracking shows that my USPS driver has it in their possession, and will be delivered today. Talked to Josh last night and he will be ready tonight.

ECU's just showed up, threw the V6 ECU in and it did start.

It wasn't very happy about it...… and now I have to go to work.
