Default jackass drunk driver

well i've had my srt6 roadster for not even a month now, and tonight it was rear-ended by this stupid f*** . I was cruising back home with the top down when i came up to a stoplight. next thing i know i see a gmc sierra in my rear view mirror coming on awful fast, so fast that i knew i was going to get it. needless to say he rear-ended my baby at about 15 mph. we pulled into a parking lot and the first thing i noticed was that he smelled like booze. after the police had come and did their thing he received one ticket for excessive speed, and while i was leaving to go back home they had him doing a field sobriety test. let me tell you he was failing miserably! i hope he enjoys the stay in jail. the amazing thing about this accident was that his truck received more damage than my car. his front steel bumper was tweaked a bit, and his driver side turn indicator was hanging by the wire. all that happened to my xfire was a couple punctures/gouges in the rear fascia. i'll have to post some pics in the morning to show the lack of damage. those darn german engineers know exactly what they're doing!

texas, yeah i'm just glad that he actually started braking or it could have been a lot worse (40 mph road). the only thing is that i've always had a bad back (passed down from my dad) so i'm pretty tight right now, i'll no for sure tomorrow morning if i'll need to see anyone about it.

Don't let the outside looks fool you. The plastic bumpers take a beating and keep on ticking,
but the metal underneath can be bent. Have your car checked out for unseen damage.

Sorry to hear about the hit, not fun when your car is hit.

yeah i know te actual bumper and not just the fascia will probably need to be replaced. i'll take a better look at it tomorrow and see just what all is wrong.

I agree with CGates, have it checked out. Here in my part of Virginia it is a constant battle with Pick Up Trucks & SUV's. Recently a pick up truck driving "Idiot" ran into the back of my Roadster Limited. I backed out of my parking space and was in the process of starting to go forward ...and all of a sudden BAM!!! The Idiot just whips out of his parking space and backs into my Roadster. The jerk gets out and says "I saw you get in your car and back out"...my reply was then why did you back into me...his reply was...DUH!!! Sustained a little paint damage and a very small dent in the rear fascia. Got a quote on getting it fixed...$485.00 for the fascia (unpainted) + labor. Didn't go after the driver of the pick up, I would have to sue him for the damages and hope that he has the money to pay. My first instinct (being from NY) was to take the 9 Iron out of the trunk and go for the Par 4 with his head ( plan "B" have the baseball bat ready, if the 9 Iron didn't work).

ok, you had your clubs in your trunk? was the top up? How did you do it? did you get your bat at bat day yankee stadium. Have you seen the kid from brooklyn? you should do a search and watch bat day you'll love it.

I bet you'll need the rear rebar, absorbers, and possibly the rear body panel. The cover is a given.
I do body shop parts all day long. There can be a bunch more damage than you can see.

Luckily, it was a GMC/Chevy. Those things fold up like a toy.
