srt for 31K NEW 200 miles
srt for 31K NEW 200 miles
This makes me sick, to think what I paid for my '05 base compared to this. I wish someone would just crash into and total my car. Then I can get out of this black hole for money.

Re: srt for 31K NEW 200 miles
When did you buy your '05 and did you research the car before buying it? Prices have been steadily dropping for the past six months and left over new '04's were plentiful well into 2005 at a great price. Unless you are a proud owner who bought a Crossfire the first nine months or so, you should have paid well under MSRP.
It pays $$$ to do your homework before making an offer on a car. There are plenty of sites were you can check value, invoice prices etc. Anyway, you bought the car to drive, don't worry about the current value, just enjoy it.

Eh, no new car is a good investment, they all drop in value. But I hear you...31K for a new SRT vs. what these went for in 04 new. It's not the only car this happened to. Even the Beetles were selling above MSRP when they first came out, and now dealers can't give them away.

Re: srt for 31K NEW 200 miles
That car is only 15 minutes from my house. As a matter of fact, that's the dealer I was at the first time I ever sat in a Crossfire. Even though the weather was nice, and the car was parked right in front of the door, they wouldn't pull it out of the show room to let me test drive it. (Guess they didn't think I was a serious buyer.) After I bought mine, I went back there and parked my car where the sales manager could see me get out of it.
From what I've heard from several people, it sounds as though they have a pretty good service dept. I'll probably take my car there for it's first service check in the spring, so I'll be finding out for myself.

Since my Wife and I frequent a restaurant about a mile past the dealer, we usually cruise thru the lot on the way home just to see what's newly arrived.
I've got to say, at that price, (if I could get them to swap our cedar interior into it) I might consider a trade for our Limited. The only problem is its black, and as beautiful as the Crossfire looks in black, I'm just not up to the extra effort it takes to keep one looking good. I'd probably miss my "notchy" 6-spd. too.
I guess I'll just wait for the Challenger.
NEWS FLASH... I just went back to the ebay listing and I noticed that the XF had a 10-4-04 Invoice date. Now I don't know if that means that's when the dealer took delivery of it or not, but I would assume it does. So Kmag you were probably right, they've had it for over a year.
That's exactly the way I got the huge discount on my '04, and why I keep preaching to everybody to watch ebay for the best deals.
If there are any "serious" buyers out there, I'll be surprised if it does not sell. That's an excellent price for a brand new, never titled, SRT-6.

Re: srt for 31K NEW 200 miles
If I could get out of my lease, I would of jumped on that bad boy, then instead of posting srt for 31k, it would of said, look what I bought for 29k! And just this last friday, friday the 13th. I was promoted to manager at my job, so it would of definitely been in my budget as a second car, or... i mean my primary, as my base coupe would clearly be my second choice to drive. But looks like i won't be getting this one.

Even though you can "Car Fax" any of the cars these dealers are selling, I still think that most people are still a little afraid to buy one on line.
All I can say is it was one of the easiest "new car" buys that I've ever made, and absolutely the best bargain I ever got on a brand new car.
All these dealers are trying to do is get out from under these cars that have been sitting on there lot for some time, and they're willing to take a "beating" on them just to move them as soon as possible. Their loss can be anybody's gain who takes advantage of the auction.
I just wish I was in the position to jump on that Blue one on line right now, of all the colors offered on the SRT, that's my favorite.

Hmmm. CSABA CSERE (editor in chief, Car and Driver)
Cult-car alert! Twenty years from now, the SRT-6 will be one of those scarce machines that will command a prominent location at concours across the country. Just consider its exotic concept-car-derived styling, its Mercedes-based mechanical bones, and its outstanding acceleration, handling, and braking.mm.
