SRT6 I might buy...
SRT6 I might buy...
Hey everyone,
I found a convertible SRT6 up in New York listed as a private sale - saw on the side of the road and it has quite some stories behind it. I have the carfax report as well and I've attached it but with a redacted VIN number.
It has about 73,500 miles on it. Has been stolen and in 2 cases has had minor damage to it, radio replaced, hit an animal, etc etc, just odd things to me like failed emissions testing one day and passed the next.... Like a check engine light was on and they power cycled the battery to get rid of the code...
What are thoughts of what this car might be worth? I already own a nice SRT6 coupe and thought it'd be nice to have a clone of what I have but in convertible format and I'm looking for an unbiased opinion of the value with all this craziness I found in the attached Carfax report which I paid $20 for.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: SRT6 I might buy...
Just got an email back from NICB:Thank you for your inquiry to the NICB. The VIN you have provided to us has been run in our database and shows no record of being reported stolen. We will contact Carfax to have them remove the theft flag from their report. This should take 2 to 3 working days. NICB has no further information on this vehicle; theft status is all we provide.
Looks like this wasn't stolen after all and the carfax report is wrong!
Thanks!

One thing I noticed about the pictures, the SRT6 has been sitting there for some time. Looks like they mowed the grass several times around the SRT6, based upon the tall grass around the edge of the car. If a car is parked on grass over an extended period of time, there is a tendency for rust to develop under the car. It appears the car was not garaged, since the SRT6 emblem has faded and looks weathered beyond normal. The wheels are dirty as well.
Without a complete service history, I would pass on this SRT6 Roadster.
Just my 2 cents....

Nice looking car. Agreed with a the other posts. Buy or not buy, It would depend on the asking price.
One thing to look for on all SRT Roadsters is the cracking, where they wing meets the top of the stanchions.
I’ve seen it on almost every roadster. They can be repaired but it’s really time consuming. If you’re considering this car, have a look perhaps you can use that particular defect to get a further reduction on the price.
wishing you success on whatever you decide.
