thanks - just contacted them - so I take it you have the same problem ? It going bad - Would that have anything to do with replacing the stereo or replacing the module in the trunk that communicates with the key to unlock and lock doors ?

today When hitting key pad .. lights blinked compressor that send air to unlock doors seem to struggle

IF the pump reacts, then the SKREEM and pump/controller are talking fine. A 'struggling' pump would imply a bad pump or low voltage to me, not a CAN BUS issue.
This can be caused by a weak battery, corroded (due to water in connectors) wiring, or just a worn pump (not likley on that last option).

just went back through my notes .......
car would not lock / unlock for wifey- then it would not start at times - i found the anti theft module and door locking vacuum pump sitting in water in the trunk ( trunk must of been leaking)
Replaced both items with used parts - car started and ran well
started acting up again and found the leak was not fixed and water was back in the trunk and corrosion was there
replaced them again and still will crank three times no start and would not crank without disconnecting and reconnecting battery - then the same thing happens
did notice yesterday when hitting the unlock lock button - very slow moving and pump runs a bit longer then usual
just wondering if i should replace anti theft module one more time before sending skreem and ecu out
any suggestions >?

Just in case you do not know a generic OBD II scanner WILL NOT give you the codes you are looking for. You must be able to dig into the Mercedes diagnostics. A proper scanner can tell if CAN BUS is a problem and distinguish between the SCREAM and the Anti- Theft alarm. The Crossfire SRT 6 will scan as a Mercedes 2003 SLK 32 AMG.

Has anyone else on here done the immobilizer delete from those guys? One of my two Crossfires is missing the SKREEM altogether, and I'm considering just doing this delete. Can you unlock the trunk and gas cap with the unlock buttons inside the car if you do the SKREEM delete? Are folks who did it happy with it?
