Default Trans cooler

Hi all so my car had trans issues apparently stemming from the trans cooler that’s attached to the radiator failing and then leaking into the transmission. Both myself and the shop have had no luck finding the proper radiator with trans cooler attached to it anywhere. Also do you think that the trans itself will now be ruined or if it’s flushed it should be fine?

My understanding is that if coolant makes it way to the transmission its game over, but there is nothing wrong with doing a flush and hoping for the best. As far as the radiator this is the one you'd want to get.

Cool thanks man. Very helpful and also saddening at the same time. I was hoping with the trans being pretty bullet proof that I may be able to skate by. They already replaced the conductor plate which was shot as well.

How many miles are on your car? I had what im sure was the stock radiator on mine well up to 200k before I replaced it recently due to the plastic part cracking and leaking. First Ive heard of the radiator trans cooler leaking coolant into the tranny since I've been here.

Car has about 75k miles. I did have a minor deer strike to the front of the car but it didn’t even crack the front bumper. Car is at a supposed well respected bmw/euro car shop so I hope they aren’t just dicking me around and actually know what they are talking about
