OBD11 scanner for SRT-6 needed
OBD11 scanner for SRT-6 needed
Is this the correct forum? I used the engine etc. forum since I assume my problem is in one or some of the engine ancillaries for the engine.
If you do I'm assuming you got it on Amazon. I now have a 2nd one of these scanners (also go by OS601) and the scanner will not recognize either of the two scanners.
I'm either doing something wrong or they are not meant for the Crossfire. One of the Google 'places' said a OBD11 scanner will not work with the XF.
On the other hand Amazon has another less expensive one and it lists virtually manufactures cars which includes Chrysler - unless Crossfires aren't included.
Is this the correct forum?
What is happening is that after I press the arrow at the bottom right it waits a bit then says there is a Communication error and to make sure the scanner is fully mounted. If that doesn't work turn off ignition then back on. In another place on the manual it implies the engine can be running. I just tried that and received the same thing.
IF any of you have one of these scanners and they work great for you, please let me know where I'm going wrong.
ON the other hand if you have another one you got on Amazon and it works fine for your SRT6 (I would imagine it works for all XF Models) please give me the details and name and how much you paid for it (so I can be sure to get the right one.
OR if no one has an Amazon scanner ( I normally get either next day or two day delivery) but if I have to wait a week or so, I guess I have to - but sure need to get this car going as soon as possible.

Re: OBD11 scanner for SRT-6 needed
This is the one I used on all my cars and it works fine. Its a simple no thrills reader. It works on my SRT-6 with no problem.
OBD11 scanner for SRT-6 needed
philosophico, it just dawned on me is that I initially took my SRT-6 to AutoZone and had a guy test my car with their scanner. It indicated a PO412 Secondary Air Injection Switching Valve A circuit and PO135 & PO155 O2 Heater Circuit Bank 1 and 2 Sensers. I bought the last two and installed. When I got my first scanner it would not work since the light had not gone out to would that matter if it was working correctly.
Does that need to be somehow deleted and that is why my two scanners haven't worked. Or should your scanner delete it and work just fine? I have read once a warning light is deleted, it might come back in a day or two if that didn't fix it?
I have 'your' scanner on speed-dial if you feel it would still work in any event?

philosophico, 'your' scanner arrived. I was unable to delete the warning light. However I clicked on the left button and it said 6 then only PO412, PO135, PO155, came on (the very same codes the AutoZone's scanner came up with.
Then it came up with Misfire, Fuel, Comp., Catalyst, Evaporator, O2 Sensor, O2 Htr? (which makes seven) but no codes.
I'm somewhat wondering if the scanner just came up with the codes that were already there or it agreed with them? For about $250 for a new Secondary Air Injection Switching Valve A Circuit I'm wondering if it is worth a try but most likely I will go ahead. As previously mentioned I've replaced the two CD Heater Circuits.
I also have to admit I'm not at all good when dealing with electronic anything. Definitely not intuitive for me. I'd sure like to get specific Error codes, along with what they are for.

To erase codes with the scanner I use you just have to hold erase on the error code it would clear it.
You can ignore the misfire, fuel, comp etc. I said it was a simple code reader, it only reads error codes, allows you to clear them and tells how many readies your car have.
Your codes indicate a failed air pump and both o2 sensors being bad. You said you replaced both o2 sensors, you need to clear the codes and drive it around until your car has went full ready again. If the problem is resolved it wont throw any codes if it is not it will throw a light and you'll need to read it again.

Just remember, OBDII codes are a diagnostic tool. They show an area of concern. IF you have repaired the problem by part replacement then GREAT, BUT, many times something else is wrong that has triggered codes. For instance (as a general note) Cat converter plugged may trip O2 before and after codes. Air pump on engine may just be that little blue valve below the pump. Many times ppl have replaced parts only to find after resetting the light the OBDII code comes back. FYI only, use as you wish!

Re: OBD11 scanner for SRT-6 needed
I inquired on Amazon about using the Blue Driver LSB2 for my 2005 Crossfire. Following is their detailed response. How many of these functions will our limited ECU actually handle? Please comment. I would like some clarity on the O2 items. If you would email me, I will edit the additional information in.
"Hi! Your vehicle will support all standard features:
- Reading/clearing engine & emissions codes (anything that turns on the check engine light)
- Live Data (you can check supported datapoints in our FAQ)

- Mode 6
- MIL Status And will display the following live data:
- Fuel System Status
- Calculated Engine Load Value
- Engine Coolant Temperature
- Short Term Fuel % Trim
