Got my SRT-6 running again
Hello,
my SRT was down for most of the year due to several factors. First off, the car would not start. That consisted of turn the key, all the dash lights would light up, hit the start position nothing not even a rapid clicking like the battery is low. So doing research either the RCM or the Battery. I had other priorities so the Crossfire sat. Finally got a RCM and installed it. Thanks to Needswings for the new RCM. Got the battery reinstalled as I took it out of the car and kept it on a maintainer for all the time it was either in the car or out. When I tried to start it last night rapid clicking after giving the system a few seconds to get up to somewhat normal having the battery out of the car for as long as I did. Checked the battery code yikes at least 5 year old battery. Yeah it's most likely bad. Bought a new battery and installed it. Gave it a couple of seconds before starting after the key was turned to on. She came to life even though she wasn't too happy with the long slumber. Gave it a few minutes then did a quick drive to get her to operating temperature. Now running like it should with some other minor maintanance needed to get it back up fully and able to be driven enough to get fresh gas back in the system.
Thanks to the forum for all the info I got to help me troubleshoot the issue. Also thanks to Rob of Needswings for supporting our fine cars so we don't have to go to the stealership for everything.
