Re: Engine Plaque
Otherwise it is word for word the same.
The regular ones look like a copy of Andrews.
Easy to copy someones work, tougher to be original.
I am not sure this one will take the engine heat.
A big fat fart award goes to the copier.
Sparkies plaque.

Re: Engine Plaque
I suppose some people would call it free enterprise, either way I very much doubt we will be seeing any copyright law suits being issued. I just thought that 9 euros was a great price considering they will put your vin no. on the plaque and domed stickers have been around well before these. By the way Mr. Grinch these guys are vendors on SRT-6.COM just in case you want to buy one ;-)

I prefer my car as it came, others do not.
I suspect the domed engine stickers will feel the ravages of the hot engine and get brittle whereas Sparkies will not.
I have original Karmann stickers and keep them in with my Crossfire collectables.
Re: Engine Plaque
I never asked for mine, they were sent to me by Karmann along with the other goodies as a thank you.
I think I know most of the Crossfire OEM accessories, brochures and collectables and probably have them.
By the way, you are back on my ignore list.

Re: Engine Plaque
I have one on my SRT6 that must have come from another vendor. Not Sparkie. It has the vin and "one of 928 Roadsters produced", but the rest is the same. I got this one back in 2010 and at that time it seemed that number was what was thought to be fact. Since then, the number is thought to be 1252 roadsters produced.
I just received a new one with the vin and "1252" added. Only thing is I had no idea these are not on a metal plaque.
I'm having reservations about replacing my old one with this new one. I don't see it holding up under the heat.

These plastic ones will get brittle and probably fade due to the heat on top of the engine.

Re: Engine Plaque
I bought two around 5-6 years ago. One became slightly darkened (I'm sure due to heat) and the other did not. Both were the gel-type top.
Re: Engine Plaque
All that I was trying to say was that for 9 Euros (9.5 USD) they were worth a punt.
If they darken slightly or go brittle over time so what? Its hardly gonna break the bank or do any damage.
I think they are a bargain as they will include your VIN No. and the quality seems spot on.

A copy of SparkieSRT6's one except for the VIN addition and the year details.
Otherwise it is word for word the same.
