You are missing something billybob..... I would love to race your slk.... lol....
OK, I will add my thoughts at this point to this old post. I wasn't able to run the drag radials, as I haven't had them on in 3 yrs. I just didn't trust them at this point. So, I put the roadster dunlops on the coupe and roasted those for 7 passes. And that is all I did. Launch easy, launch hard, it didn't matter. I even did a dreaded roll start, and went sideways in a hurry. Now the car launches fine, but spinning in 1, then 2, finally catching in 3, playing catch up, having a "delayed", yes delayed, 4th gear shift, and then a slow steady pull to 5000 rpm and you are at a ridiculous 135.2977 mph. So, yes, this weekend sucked big time. Now, we aren't done, as remember, I want a 1/4 mile car, not a 1/2 mile car. I will figure this out, but holding any judgement until I can test at the drag strip hopefully this week, with the drag radials on. I had some impressive burnouts, but that doesn't make you quick.
Now for the half mile event. It is literal filled with highly ($$$$) modified cars just for that event. Certainly no stock cars there. Even the ones I might have a little chance at running with were modified to some aspect. A lambo went 216. Still had fun...but back to the drawing board.

Re: 3:46 gear is in
Sorry to hear about the disappointment in your post. No way to know where you are for sure until it hooks up and goes. Honestly, I have trouble getting going cleanly even with drag radials. I suck at it. I've concluded that the slow shift isn't as big of a deal as I used to make of it. The cars still pulling even though it's at a diminished hp level. 135 mph does suck though. I know you've got a 140 mph 1/2 miler. Post up the 1/4 mile adventure once you've had it. I'm curious and considering returning to the 1/4 and 1/2 mile events and retiring from the road racing.

Re: 3:46 gear is in
I wish I needed that. Track day cancelled today. Once the drag radials went on and we could actually launch this puppy, it didn't want to shift right. So this TCU gets a new tune. It was set up for the new valve body with higher pressures. They thought I was installing it right away. I didn't so I will see if another tune helps. Would have been a excellent debut at the track. Cool temps and sunshine all day. So, if that doesn't work....not sure what I will do. Very disappointed at this point. It comes out of the hole as best as any car I have ever owned, but it has to shift. I will keep you all abreast of the situation. But we are no where close at this point. Now normal driving is fine.
Re: 3:46 gear is in
Well, was hoping for a TCU change so I could run Saturday. The tracks around here are closing for the winter. So, once I get the new tune, I will have to trailer it south to find a track. Need to figure this out before snow flies. I have some other mods to do over the winter to get ready for a full season run at the drag strip. 1/8 th mile track is a half hour away from me. So I will run there most of the time. Check in next week. May have to run in TN.
Update:::new TCU installed and shifting seems normal again wont be able to tell until weather straightens up but it is shifting.
