Where does the Air in the Cabin Comes From
Where does the Air in the Cabin Comes From
Greetings,
I'm fighting to eliminate fumes that appear to be coming through to the cabin. Ran the air and the heat, placed my head near the vent and noticed the mild scent of fumes. Got a charcoal filter which I plan to install tomorrow (actually later today, lol) but was wondering if it's possible to determine the path of the air that comes into the cabin. Anybody know or able to perhaps point me to a reference?
Thx!

The small occasional drip can hit the exhaust manifold and cause the fumes. Whether this is your problem, or a leak somewhere else; I would locate and repair first, before contaminating a new charcoal filter(that's just me). Others have needed to clean out the cabin air intake area below the cowling, as a buildup of old rotting leaves and debris can also cause a foul odor. But yours sounds like engine fumes as you describe. Use the Forum search engine here for a tutorial on this issue. Good Luck w/ it.
