Default Power steering reservoir to pump O-ring

I have a new )-ring but need help in where to locate it. My guess is that I place it into the reservoir all the way. Then when I have the reservoir back on the pump the C-clip should hold the O-ring in place. Would this be correct? I bought a new reservoir and )-ring. At first I put the )-ring on the metal nipple of the pump but the reservoir still leaks. So it would seem I need the O-ring to be placed all the way into the reservoir and then assemble the reservoir, holding the )-ring in place in the reservoir. Help from experience is appreciated. Thanks, mark

I also had problems with the stock o-ring leaking. I pulled out my assortment of O-rings and found three that easily stretched over the nipple of the pump and easily slipped in to the reservoir. With the O-rings stacked side by side, the reservoir has to be pressed on firmly in order for the c-clip to line up with the cut outs on the reservoir and the groves in the nipple. The pressure on the O-rings makes for a snug fit on the nipple and the reservoir. Hope this helps.

So you have no more PS leakage? Am I correct that the O-rings go into the reservoir with the C-clip to the "right"/away from the reservoir? At first I slid the O-ring onto the PS nipple with the C-clip to the "left" of the o-ring and of course it leaked. Im will update as I get some miles on the car. Thanks for the advice should I need to remove the reservoir again as I have a set of o-rings here! Mark

I think you would be better of keeping all the posts concerning the PS pump leak to one thread, at the moment I see your comments spread over four threads and one of them just has your posts in it.
You may know what is going on but hardly anyone else does including me.

Correct, no more leaks and yes O-rings to the left of c-clip.
