'05 SRT-6 New Owner
I just picked up a 05 SRT-6 tonight and was wondering if any components need to be addressed or replaced right off the bat? Also it has 27k miles on it and I was also wondering if any one knows of a great extended warranty company that is not costly. Also if any tech guys know of any reputable tuner's in or near IL please pass along the info. I would like nothing more then to open this baby up and make sure the upgrades are done right.

Congrats on the purchase!
Regarding maintenance, if you happen to know any pervious maintenence history, that would help. If none at all, these vehicles are 12 years of age now. I purchased mine part year in March with 40k, I've changed or plan on changing yet this summer, coolant, SC oil, transmission fluid/filter, rear differential fluid, power steering fluid, fuel filter, and plugs/wires, among other optional upgrades. Everyones opinion will vary, but I prefer to take care of internals, before modification.
I noticed with another thread you were looking into after market upgraded performance packages. If that's the situation, and you're attempting to go with an aftermarket warranty, read the fine print. It may not be worth the cost. I was offered a 2 year 25k Chrysler warranty, at $2,600.00 discounted from $4,200.00 through a individual I know, that owns a franchise of dealerships. No thanks! That's after an inspection too. There are a few cases where members here have made off like bandits with warranty work in there favor. I suppose it depends on how many miles you plan on driving, as well as driving conditions.
