srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
Just finished my exhaust today. Deleted my resonator, muffler, secondary cats. Installed the ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler where the secondary cats were. Used factory tips.
The exhaust is extremely quiet on the highway. At 60-65 is super quiet and amazing. At 80, you know there is an exhaust on the car but the noise level is still very low. Resonated tips would be perfect for anyone who wanted a super stealth kind of exhaust.
Video is crap quality, it was windy and I was at work. Had no one to it up for me this is all I got for now.

Re: srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
When I think drone, it's any annoying frequency that is not stock. The engineers of the OEM exhaust worked long and hard to get the perfect pitch/frequency for the Crossfire. If you have an annoying frequency at 2,000-2,500 rpm with your new system, open a window a little if it's closed. This helps with any frequency reverb. Or downshift and bring the rpm up.
Re: srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
Well you can buy a new one for $1200. Or you can look on ebay. Search for "Ferrari 456 muffler". Part number is 149883.
Try the following:
Ferrari 456 muffler
Ferrari 456 Silencer
Ferrari 456 Center (or centre) exhaust
Ferrari 456 Exhaust
Look for a used one that is not damaged. You can not keep secondary cats with this muffler. I paid 180 shipped from overseas and got it in three to four days. Some are a bit expensive. You should be able to get one to your door for about 300 shipped.
Also, there is no "annoying" frequency on the highway. At 65 its very quiet. At 80, its a bit louder but still quiet for an after market exhaust. I've been contemplating the old school resonated ANSA exhaust tips, the black/chrome ones with the red inside.
Here is another video, much better quality, no wind and I had my brother recording. When I revved it up, it would pop when I took my foot off the gas. Sounds weird in the video, more of a gurgle. Note how quiet it is during idle. When I drove by I think I hit 3.5-4k rpms.

Re: srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
I agree that it sounds pretty good in the part of the video where you took off down the street. So do you still have the OEM cats in the down pipes? and then eliminated everything else and installed that Ferrari 456 muffler? Do you have an X pipe installed? Please provide more specifics . . .
My SRT6 is fast but the wife told me last week it just doesn't "sound good". I know it will never rumble like a big block V8 but I'd like to get it closer to that European Ferrari / Lamborghini sound. Guess I have to do some tweaking in the exhaust system . . .

Re: srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
On the SSB SRT6 roadster I have Needswings catless downpipes and the rest of the system is stock OEM. It has a bit more of a snarl than a completely stock system but still pretty tame and quiet.
Re: srt6 with dual exhaust ANSA Ferrari 456 muffler
I have the catless downpipes on mine as well! Probably about to pull trigger on the Megan MRS muffler.. it will be interesting to see what they sound like paired together

Delete secondary cats, resonator and muffler
Ferrari 456 muffler in place of the secondary cats, Dual in Dual out
used factory H pipe
Factory tips at the end
We routed the exhaust so the both pipes go the driver side (where the resonator was). I wanted to avoid getting too close to the fuel pump/lines.
Red Dog, this setup is very quiet until you get on it. When I driving down the street, I was giving it quite a bit of throttle so that you guys can her it. Like I said in my original post, slap on some good resonated tips (ANSA imo) and this exhaust will sounds amazing. It will be quieter in low rpms but practically the same in high rpms.
I think my car gained 100 HP, according to my ears.
