Default Supercharger snout bolt torque?

Can anyone please tell me what the proper torque is for the (5) SC snout bolts? TIA

Soooo, why did you have your supercharger snout off? Just curious. It's a shame that you must pull the supercharger from your engine to mod or replace the snouts gasket. Squirrel Crusher

LOL, yes that would be crazy. Wife's out of town, so I get to do whatever I want for a couple of weeks. It's part of a whole bunch of good stuff/spring cleaning. Already have DCAI and big mani's from Rob, but recently got Coated valve covers, ported/coated snout and y-pipe. I've pressure tested and cleaned/flushed the CAC, cleaned & polished the SC, installed new Magnacore wires and laser iridium plugs from Rob, injectors sent to Witchhunters for clean and service, install a TTM fuel rail crossover that I got from GripGrip a while back, installing fresh belt. And Cocktail hour is an hour earlier for the next two weeks.

For general purposes there are standards for steel bolts in aluminum alloy, you could look for the same size bolt in the block for instance and read what is recommended for it. I think there is a chart in the Servuce Manual that gives the recommend settings. Failing that a search should find the appropriate chart on the web.

Thank you Dave. After not seeing it in the SC / CAC remove & replace section, the first thing I thought of was to ask the pros here. I didn't realize that we have a torque spec. chart in the introduction portion 8. All you have to learn is how to read it. After a little study I see that the snout bolt is an 8mm dia. flange bolt, 1.25 pitch, and stamped with NF/8.8.(I believe means Class 8.8?) Our chart shows Class 8 or Class 9, so either 24 ft.lbs. for class 8, or 27 ft.lbs. for class 9. Since I'm using blue threadlock, and 24 ft.lbs. seems like plenty; that's what I'm looking at. Does all that sound right to you Dave? NF means; National Fine (thread).

Class 8.8 is not mentioned, 9.8 is and it says 14.ft-lb. your 24 is too high I would say. So 8.8 would be a little less than 14 ft-lb, I think.
The NF stands for the manufacturer I think.

My OEM flange bolts on the snout are stamped 8.8(for class 8.8) and I used the torque chart on page 8 of the introduction. 24 ft.lbs. seemed just fine. I do understand that the chart doesn't mention 8.8, but I believe it should, since that is the bolt that was used here; at least on mine. NF doesn't mean National Fine? And what Nation is it? lol

After further review, I realize that (2) of the (5) snout bolts are also holding down the rear of the CAC; and those bolts are spec'd @ 15 ft.lbs. It only makes sense that they should all be the same torque. Thank you Dave.
