Oh and this picture appears to be a comparison pic of a 185 crank vs stock crank pulley. Stock is the one on the right.

Nothing is protruding, just all of it does not appear to be there. Will find out for sure when I install my new alternator if the sound goes away.
Read post #6, it shows a pulley with the elastomer (rubber) missing in half of the pulley. If yours is like that it is a potential grenade and over time liable to damage bearings on the crankshaft. This will be noisy and vibrate due to the imbalance.
We all should look for damage like this.

Sorry bout that Onehundred80. For some reason that picture did not show up on my phone when accessing the site but when I pulled it up on my laptop, the picture shows up. When I dive back in there tomorrow I will more closely inspect it and go from there.

Alright, after closer inspection, the rubber filling is not flush all the way around and where it is not flush it appears to recess about an 1" or more making me think parts of the rubber are missing. Basically it does not look like the picture I posted but does not look as bad as the Onehundre80 picture.

Since I will be down there working on the alternator, why not replace this at the same time. At oediscountparts, I searched for the 2004 Mercedes SLK AMG and the Crossfire SRT 6 and this is what I found.

The Mercedes search resulted in a $307 part.
2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK32 AMG Parts - OE Discount Parts

The Chrysler SRT 6 search resulted in a $375 part.
2005 Chrysler Crossfire Parts - OE Discount Parts

Based on the handy dandy engine chart they provided (which is really cool), they appear to be the same part with a $75 difference. Making sure these parts are identical and correct for this replacement.

Thanks

Also, can you use the same center bolt or should you purchase a new one? I did not see the bolt listed on oediscountparts.com but thought I would ask before I begin this install.

Alright, based on further reading, it is recommended to replace the crank pulley bolt then reuse the original. Since it is only about $15 I will buy a new bolt.

These are a one time only use item, like the copper oil pan washers. For $15 you get a little security which is priceless.

Since I had multiple issues happening at the same time that overlapped multiple threads I am updating all of them with what I found. The crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer was failing and has been replaced. Pictures are attached for your review.

Holy crank pulley bolt!!! I was thinking $15 for a bolt is ridiculous until I saw the size of the bolt - )

This is what mine looked like except it was coming out from the front and it was out just a bit more. I do not use the car in the winter and I am just now ordering the part.

Did you order the MB part number?
From my research, it is the same part.

I do not have the Mopar number (I would not expect to either).
Mine is A1120351500 and the site you gave has A1120351600.
This is an updated from what I have found and hopefully and better part but they look the same.

Interested on finding out what you did----Thanks Jimmy

Jimmy,

I ordered the MB A1120351600 part and it installed with no issues. It took about 7 days to ship to my door. The car is running great now. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks again to you and all here
I am ordering it today and the bolt and tool to hold the pulley.

I plan on having a good breakfast for the 150 plus 90 degrees when that day comes.
